Zoom-Zoom
Well as you all know i've recently finished my motor build, so I figured it was time to start a new thread to continue the process of the rest of the car. I'm still waiting for it to get tuned but I have some new projects i'm going to start in the mean time.
1. Since I removed the power steering I have been driving around with the power rack and it doesn't bother me so much but the response isn't there at slower speeds. I have already done the looping process but still it's unpleasently tight at lower speeds. So the option is to find a manual rack from an 88- 91 civic, well my problem I had with that was that the ratio on them sucked and you had to turn it 10 times just to pull a u-turn. So I found a solution, Quaife makes a quick ratio rack and pinion for them so it's done. This will be one of the first projects.
2. Suspenion, aka bushings. I'll be going through the suspesnion and be replacing every bushing. Some will be kept as hard bushings, there are a few on the control arms and such that i've thought about using spherical bushings on but haven't decided yet.
3. Brakes, i'm unsure of but i'll probablly be picking up some power slot rotors. New pads of course. Steel lines. Thinking about upgrading to maybe some spoon rotors. Not sure because I don't know what size wheel they fit into. Haven't really looked into it yet.
4. I will be re-duing the wiring harness. Stay tuned, maybe a tuck, I don't care about asethetics that much, just makes it more of a bitch to work on imo.
5. All new hoses, well at least the ones that haven't already been replaced.
6. I will be removing the abs. Yes me who has preached against this for the longest time because abs is the greatest thing ever but I've decided my system doesn't really work so fuck it, it's going. This will happen soon with the brake upgrade.
7. There will be a slight battery relocation.
8. You will see a very nice header installation, and new exhaust.
9. I will be redoing alot of the cosmetic things, stripping, carpeting, window regulators. Then maybe sometime this year you will see some paint.
Anyways there's the list so stay tuned and enjoy the progress. In case your wondering i've decided i'm going to keep this car as a nice weekend street car so I don't plan on using it for racing that much, maybe just for fun here and there. I will be starting another thread in the future on an HPDE race car.
So the beginning where it will start at again.
Comments, questions, and concerns are welcome at any time during all this, thank you and have a nice day.
