"Nitrous Oxide System"Added note, anyone who refers to nitrous at "NOS" automatically loses credibility. Thanks a lot, Fast and the Furious. Ever since that stupid movie, everyone throws the word "NOS" around in hopes of sounding like they know what they are talking about. "NOS" is a brand of Nitrous. It's like calling all soda "Coke" and trying to not sound like a stupid redneck.
the rookie comes out swinging!!! I love it. Welcome. We like you already. Don't just start replacing parts.Well i guess ill start off with the cat, and if that doesnt fix it ill try the piping and muffler, or should i just do it all at once? i dont know if it would be more in labour to replace one part at a time... let me know what you guys think.
The engine doesnt continue to rev after i take my foot off the gas, when it loses power it just loses power, i have not stalled the car one since i started driving it a month ago despite it's problems losing power.
yea you should "preform" a compression test, lol.You should preform a compression test.
I think i would probably be on the side of the road by now if it was a Ford lol. But anyways, it is still running and driving so ill just keep driving it until it does something because i simply cannot afford a newer car right now or even repairs, and i would rather not remain afraid of it and not drive it.if it isnt the cat like rdubya it could be the clutch or something wit the transmission i heard of a ford have a prob like that
The last time is by the last owner maybe, but most likely not. The past week and a half it hasnt had any problems though but i know it may still do it if i drive it more. But I am going to save up for the muffler/cat and the other thingy and just replace them. It has to be the cat, thats just my strong educated guess, and if that isn't it.. well.. its still running!. I will possibly give what you suggested a shot. Thanks.Maybe you could try driving it around until it starts to bog, then immediately shut it off and pull one of the plugs. If the plug smells like gas, or gas is visible on it, you're not getting spark. Maybe just pull each one, because it might be an individual cylinder. When was the last time you changed the cap/rotor and plugs/wires?
It seems like you've got a similar problem. Even though I sold the car i noticed before i sold it, it would sound like it was going to stall when I was starting and stopping downtown but it never did that to me. Now I have a 1992 Acura Legend, with a V6 standard. I had to share, I'm so happy with it. Anyways if anyone has had a similar problem with their transmissions and losing power in their honda or acura, please post your fix and results, or symptoms of the current problem that has not been fixed yet.Well cool thing, I am having the exact same problem. Well everything except the muffler deal. Just a loss of power. It happens in all gears. It's kind-of like a sputtering problem when I accelerate but it only happens sometimes. It does seem like the problem is getting worse though. My car is also just shutting off while idling, but ive noticed its only when im in neutral? Dont know if thats relevant. Anyway, to the OP, did you figure anything out? And to anyone else do you think there would be any difference between the two?
