Not terrible around here, but enough to give us some 40+mph winds and dump several inches of rain on us, which means I won't be allowed out, since my parents freak out about the slightest storms etc. Sigh, I need to get an apartment.

I want to party this weekend, but this hurricane is going to make it difficult. Sigh.
Hurricane parties are the best! I've had some of the best times during Ike and Rita. Get a metric s*** ton of beer, ice and meat.....and kick back and enjoy a few days off with no power and not s*** to do but eat, drink and entertain yourself in various ridiculous ways.

It's funny when I see people preparing for hurricane somewhere else. Home Depot is packed full of people trying to buy plywood, batteries, flashlights....everyones panicking for water and canned goods, etc.

When a hurricane comes to Houston, Spec's and other liquors stores are packed with people stocking piling beer, liquor and ice. People piling in to buy charcoal and stuff to grill while the powers out. The first things cleared out at the grocery stores are not batteries, water and such. It's beer, ice and steaks.......
