Huge difference between police jobs which military experience would actually help qualify you because you have weapon handling, and know how to do that sort f thing. Compared to a career where you earn a decent amount. I'm not being a dick, just letting you know what I know as someone who had to hire every day. If possible-take night classes and get an associates degree at your local community college. It'll help you get a job and a better salary.
you obviously didnt read my first post about that. I HAVE 80,000 DOLLARS FOR COLLEGE. why the hell would i goto a community college? or i could go with the new gi bill where they pay for a 4 year degree at any college in the country, but i like the idea of being able to go for more then 4 years. granted, you still have to be accepted into the college and by no means will i ever get into Harvard with me dropping out of high school, but uti, ohio state, florida state, mmi, any thing like that i can pretty much get in with no problems.
im not talking about police and security jobs, thats obvious that i can get a job doin that just about anywhere, but there are plenty of other jobs out there that hire military, like hp corporate offices.
also, im one of those people who would rather have a job he enjoys then a job that pays more. im a mechanic. i have a lot to learn and plan to be at uti as soon as a spot opens, will be doing 6 years there doing different classes and getting certified in everything i can, gotta do 1 year on the job before i can take my ase certifications, and ill be happy. or i could go over seas and work private security and make 100k a year starting. and be there next month. but thats not what i enjoy so id rather not.
