Keep learning grubworm.
Actually full leathers aren't gay, Just not needed unless you ride track.
Haha! I wasn't talking about track leathers, that s*** is legit.

I was referring to this kind of set up:

This is the best set up:

Worst set up:

As long as it's not full leathers because that's slightly unnecessary , Just some basic high quality mesh armored riding pants, Some good riding boots, Gloves, Jacket (Leather of course) And a Good helmet!
Currently I have Alpinestars textile leather pants, Alpinestars SMX boots, old Alpinestars gloves, ICON Defcon armored jacket, and I was using a SHOEI helmet, but it was like 8 years old, and I believe it went through a minor collision, so I bought an Answer dirtbike helmet for street use. Much tighter fit than the SHOEI, doesn't knock around easy either.

Also the past 2 days I bought a Fox roost deflector and Fox Titan Pro elbow guards for dirtbiking to use with my knee guards and the rest of my outfit!

I will look into that. I need sleep, riding to the top of the mountains tomorrow to make up for my shitty experience yesterday.

but thats not full leathers... its nothing more than a leather jacket which is at the least what someone should be wearing. Hell most cruisers wear less than that. Also if youre going for a ride in the canyons, u should fully suit up. Its not just for track. Essentially youre just choosing your level of safety gear and most people choose less. Wearing less than you can = trying to be cool.

Leather cant be textile, that would be artificial leather which isnt leather at all.

My pants were mesh with metal knee thigh and hip guards, Not as good as leather I suppose but for DD'ing it was ok

Worthless. Theyll tear out before they protect you from anything. Of course thats not always going to happen and my judgement is on the harsher side. Light rashing wont necessarily do it but the fact that anything fabric or cloth usually disintegrates when you hit pavement means theres little value to the extra protection of pads or armor under that construction. I was going to buy knee high guards to wear under or over jeans for those casual canyon days but never got around to the purchase. Still your pants are better than plain jeans.

Im generally not a believer in fabric or textile protection in motorcycle gear.
