I figure the term Car Enthusiast is the more politically correct term for people who like to mod cars (maybe I'm wrong). When I was 15, RICER use to be a word used for someone who drove a Japanese car, whether nice or trashed. My 88 Accord was known by my friends as the Jap Crap Rice Burner. I see the term RICER exploded after the movie FAST AND THE FURIOUS came out. Since the movie did blow the reality of the import scene way out of proportion. Also I think that since the majority of the cars on the scened are Japanese cars, the term RICER fit perfectly.
