I only Googled "skytec". I couldn't find it because you spelled Scytec wrong I guess. The OP hasn't said he has a price range. That ScyTec stuff looks interesting, night vision cameras and satellite tracking, pretty cool. They have some work to do on their website, it sucks, lol.

My bad, but yea it was a good first alarm for me, the isntaller had the sensitivity too high but other than that it did its job with what it had.

I got my Autopage for under $500 installed.. w/ 1mile range and turbo timmer remote start and trunk release..defentily worth the $, I wouldn't cheap out on security at all.. but also an alarm isnt enough, for best security you need to do it in stages.. for example, 1stage relocate trunk release, 2stage Alarm with fuel cut off, 3stage another fuel cut off, button hidden with in the car.
But still even than IF someone wants your car or something out of your car bad enough, they will get it... my friend had all those stages and they still managed to steal her car and semi strip it, ended up on the LCAs on the ground..

the second one i have installed a few of. its a decent alarm. i use a crime guard alarm from crutchfield and it has done me right so far. thats probably one of the better deals out there. i have a tilt sensor, pressure sensor, glass break sensor, standard shock sensor, window roll up, 2 way remote, 2 piezo in cabin sirens, and the standard siren, oh and a backup battery for around 350 bucks.

i work at a car audio and alarm shop and we only work with viper security systems...i personally think you get what you pay for so when you buy a Viper, you receive LIFETIME warranty as opposed to other DEI products who only offer 1 year warranty. Also some of these other brands like Scytec (sp?) aren't really sold everywhere so most installers have trouble with them and their technical support are not always helpful so keep that in mind when purchasing one of those brands...IMO Viper is the best, i like the Viper 5900 (even though DEI stop producing it) and i think its worth the price especially when PROFESSIONALLY installed....just my 2 cents to anyone considering a reliable security system.
