After-Market Vs. Stock

I was just wondering where everyone stands on After-Market Body kits/exterior/interior details vs. the stock details. Do you prefer After-Market stuff or do you think it can get a little overboard? I'm more of a stock outside, after-market under the hood kinda guy, but a lot of people I've talked to about it prefer stock, period. What are your thoughts on this debate?

heres what i think... fashion and what people look at as being the "in" thing is something that will change over time. In 2000 people used 18" wheels on their fast and furious cars, a few years ago (maybe last year) the "In" thing was "JDM" wheels on a "jdm car" with jdm nick nacks all over the car...now its having your car flush with low offset wheels. To me, I could care less about how my car looks, as long as i am comfortable in the car. I am a motorsports enthusiest and track my car often, i want something that is cheap to replace if broken, and something that is functional. So body kits and big wings are a no no for me. I like the stock look, i admit i do have some jdm this and that but i like how i feel in the car and thats whats important to me. My motor is stock, as i got into the motorsports thing, the notion of having a fast car went out the window as i learned I needed to be faster. Thats how i feel about the subject of "aftermarket v stock" I just dont care which i have as long as i can do what i do with the car.

Okay so i used to like cars like that...mainly cause the fast and the furious.
Right now after all the years, i like simple, clean looking cars. I think of cars as you. You build you own car to how you like them. If thats what you like go for it. I like unigue things ive never seen before too. Like ppl covering there lips in stickers(what i just did lol).
Anywho, i like low, clean, stockesh rides...but i also love like front lips, etc that were made for the car.. like lips and kits that acura/honda made at one point. Im not that into JDM and i thought the JDM fronts were ugly at first, but i like JDM things just cause it came on the car somwere, so not some cheap maker made parts for the car...it was made for it.
just clean oem with customization is what i like:

But then again-its YOUR car and you make it YOU!
who cares what everyone thinks

thats function, something that wont go out of style. The purpose of the front wing is to get downforce from the clean air creating more grip on the front tires. His car, Something Rado or something or another is setting times in that car that are amazing, he pulled a 1:27.xxx at Willow springs international raceway. My top time was 2:09 or so. WSIR is a track which looks easy to drive but the small quirks in some of the lines makes it extremly difficult to drive

thats right.
Body kits = :rice: I much prefer lowered with maybe a lip kit. Clean stock cars will 99% of the time look better then one with a body kit IMO

I think I've seen that guy at a few NASA events here in phx. I actually hate the way it looks, but damn that thing is hella effing fast.
Honestly I would probably drive something that looks butt ugly like that if it performs as well as that car does.

What Coy said, if it's done right, yeah, i like it, but if it's not, then it's a big ol' :thumbdown

Yeah, I feel you guys on the debate. Both sides have their ups and downs. If the kit is done right, it can look amazing. However, it can look really corny if you have too much done. I want my 'Teg to be clean stock on the outside, but rumbling under the hood. =]

Ok well here is my opinion, and mind you I am a noob in this whole integra/import community and am not even sure exactly what ricey/ricer means, but I'm guessing most of you would refer to my car as such... With that being said, I like my vehicles to be somewhat unique, yes I'm am a fan of body kits but I do think they can be over done. I have also seen some really clean stock and jdm rides. But to me the jdm rides are cool but they are all too similar. I like a little flash and even some things a bit extra.

So this is my car that I just got 2 days ago, so don't jump down my throat for the mods because obviously I didn't do them, there are some things I'd like to change but I think its a cool car...(especially for the price) bottom line is drive what you like who cares what anybody else thinks
