Aem Intake Dilemma!

im not tryin to be mean here but a CAI has its purpose and that purpose is to bring a cooler denser air charge, not to sound a certain way. i love my AEM CAI but not because of the sound, but because of the performance aspect of things.

you also should try a gettin a turbo b'cuz they make cool noises too, right?

Boosted--I think his concern might be that its not making the "proper" noise so maybe its not performing properly (bringing in cooler denser air charge) ,....but who knows,maybe the goal was "noise" lol.

I have an eBay CAI(never used the egay filter,..),...but its easily made into an SRI by taking the bottom extension pipe off,...I could tell alot more of a "growl" with the SRI,...(only talking sound here,not performance.)

you shouldn't really be concerned about your intake growling as long as its serves it purpose, if you want your car to growl then jus get an exhaust.

btw my icebox doesn't growl until i actually floor it... i like it that way so it doesn't annoy me when i criuse.

x2! Function should come first. Would you rather have it growl that do it's job of cleaning and feeding air into your engine?

make a cd recording of growling sound and just play it when u drive lol man whats the big deal about growling it doesnt incease power of your car. u want to feel the car better put a urethane bushing on rear engine mount. it will feel like a type-r minus about 3000 rpm.

or even better. buy the chrome elbow from autozone and eliminate the intake completely. just put the filter on the intake. it will growl like a WRX but u aint gonna move too fast tho.

sorry to say but this thread is dum, no intake growls....they just whistle. If u want a growl get an exhaust
