ok so i want to drop my DA about 2 inches. my mechanic said he'd drop it and put new shocks in for 500 (my shocks are shot to hell). but i was thinkin for 500 i can just spend an extra 400 or so and get adjustable coilovers. and not have to feel every dent in the road from having cut springs (so i hear). or should i just have him put in the shocks for 500 and i'll buy some coilover sleeves (pretty cheap far as i saw) for him to put on?? what you guys think?

Ok 1st off cut springs just suck! Why dont you just do it your self and save like 300 bucks, It stupid simple to do and ask anyone and they should be able to guide you through it. From what I have read (I have owned like 3 civics and put coil overs on many peoples civics and integras are pretty close) is that you have to get the shock forks for the front shocks. and the rears use 94-00 integra/ 91-00 civic shocks cause there alittle shorter and alittle fatter then the Da integra shocks. But if you want cheap but good shocks get the NAPA sensatrack, there good and get the job done and about 62 bucks each there alot cheaper. A good coil over kit would be Drop zone coilovers there 89 bucks for the kit and pretty forward to install. I have used Dropzone on pretty much an application ( DD, Drag, Road racing) and there a pretty good and I have never had a problem with them.

You're not quite on point. You only need the DC/EG forks if you're doing the DC/ DA hybrid suspension, which I strongly advise against. The height of the front and rear shocks differs on the DA and the DC/EG chassis.
Also, if you want to lower the car, do not but Sensatrack shocks. They are not intended for a lowered vehicle and will ride like crap and blow out in quick fashion.

OP, A decent set up is a set of Koni shocks and a Ground Control coilover sleeve. Better than that would be something like a Function Form Type 1 coilover, then a Tein Basic damper, from there you move into even better set ups like the Tein SS, K&W full coilovers, Progress Suspension coilovers, etc.
There are a lot of threads on here to read to get an idea of what set up is right for your needs and budget.

save $700 get some Buddyclub N+ coilovers, stay away from Ksport and D2, and from what i think 91 and under civic and integras have smaller inserts into the front forks and 92 and up are the same, don't quote me on it though

I have never had a problem with sensatrack, I actually think they ride pretty damn good. I have had them on my car for almost 3 years and not one has blown out and still rides pretty good. Im not sure about the DC/eg hybrid stuff I just read up about it and wondering why you think its so bad?

I do agree with Ground control and koni or kyb on something that can see track time but on the street I dont like them and are to stiff. Yes the Da shocks are longer then eg/dc ones but I have seen on many other forums that they work good and they have never had a problem.

Had it on my car. Due to the different heights of the shocks, you get a huge front wheel gap and the rears are slammed. To even out your ride height you have to set the rear sleeves all the way at the top (or have a collar made to bring up the sleeves), and you have to slam the fronts. In doing this, you have reduced shock travel and that gives you a shit ride.

Ride quality is not bad with the Monroe Sena-tracs but to me they felt softer than OEM struts. The good thing about them is that they come with LIFETIME warranty which is great if you with on youre own.

Go with KYB GR-2's instead as they also come with lifetime warranty and ride quality is better imo.

As for lowering the car invest in some used tein springs or eibach sportlines. Not sure which one offers the lowest drop

Sensatrac, GR-2s...just stock replacements. If you want a better ride quality on a lowered vehicle, you need a better shock.

Hey,

Im currently in the market for shocks as well I'm looking at the KYB GR-2's for $210 out the door. (My Hookup)

It currently has some coilover sleeves as to the brand I'm not sure and I believe it has stock shocks.

I want to lower my car I also have currently Tein springs not installed yet. Just bought tires for the car and I also have a camber kit for the car not install yet as well.

Would that be a good setup to run and get a good drop on the car?

Thanks, Tony.

Stop with the stock replacement's... Sensa-track and GR2's are not meant for lowered application, I had the GR2s before and they were way to soft for the lowered ride height.

OP... Just get this set up

It looks like you're looking for about the same drop as I had (I had this set up on my DB1)

The H&R Springs are good (not best), But they'll give you one of the lowest drops for a good price... And I loved the Illuminas (shocks). When I would be driving it I had it set to level 2-3 stiffness (took seconds to adjust) and when I would have to drive my brothers fat ass girl friend I set it to level 5 and it felt like the suspension was close to being made out of rock (and it didn't scrape amazingly [shes 350+ pounds])
