Adding a auto tilt function to an Integra sedan.

I've had my Integra for about a year now and love some of the features it has over my old EJ1 Civic, the one thing I don't get is why the Civic had a tilting moon roof and the Integra don't?

Searched around trying to see if anyone had done this before but can't find anything.

I looked over the wiring diagrams and it looks that the Integra sedan's moon roof motor is very similar to the Civic's.

Notice the tilt sensor symbol in the Civic's motor and how the pop out for the Integra sedans motor has the same symbol?

Integra Diagram

Civic Diagram

This made me think they had the same motor so I looked up the part numbers and they are in fact the same part.

70100-SR3-013 FRAME, SUNROOF
70200-SR3-003(BRONZE)/J01(no tint) GLASS ASSY., ROOF (SUNROOF)
70450-SR3-003 MOTOR ASSY., SUNROOF

Here is what I came up with.

I have a feeling this diagram is a misprint, as the relay has no use as how it is wired in this diagram. Anyone know of another diagram for the Integra moonroof?

New diagram with AUTO tilt added. Just need the relays from the Civic with a little wiring and a extra momentary switch for the tilt function.

actually has an FB6 now.
i'm a big noob, but do you mean when you open the sun roof/moon roof, the glass will go on top of the car?

because if so, i believe all Integras that do have moon/sun roofs do that.

im not sure what you mean about tilt, i thought it did but maybe im just not understanding what you mean. hah apics needed!

my da9 is blowin my mind
i think he's talking about if he was to close the sun roof and kept closing it, it would "tilt" up pass the close position to vent. right? if not im a complete noob:???:

What I mean by tilt is for the sunroof to open just to the very point it starts to go back but it doesn't.

Like this:

The Civic has a button to do this without the moon roof opening more then just the vent position. The Integra don't, you have to hit the button just long enough and release it before the moon roof cracks open. On days that it has just rained and water is sitting on the moon roof, doing this can be tricky without getting soaked.

My understanding of a moon roof is that it's manually operated and only vents. A sunroof is electric and slides all the way open. But that is besides the point I guess.

The relay is just there so that the sun roof switch will only work when the key is all the way on.

Is the sun roof wiring independent of the rest of the dash wiring? Can you simply swap Civic harnesses and relays into your Integra?

There seems to be some variation in the Integra sun roof wiring. For instance on mine (a 97 GSR coupe), there is no limit switch. If you hold the button down the motor will keep running until you let go. On the sedans, possibly just the newer Integras, it works like the electric windows. When the window reaches the full open or closed position, the motor quits running. I wish I had the later version because I plan to install a module to close the sunroof with the alarm remote.

I'm wondering if the earlier motor was superseded by a later motor that has a built in tilt sensor (and limit switch). That would mean that you have to swap the motor.

On your moon roof switch wiring, you have the off wiring going to nowhere.

In the Honda Manual they call the power sliding roof both a "moonroof" and a "sunroof"

The relay is just there so that the sun roof switch will only work when the key is all the way on.

If you remove the relay, the power sliding roof switch will still only work with the key all the way on anyways.

From the looks of it the the power sliding roof wiring is semi independent, but cutting and soldering would be needed.

When I looked at wiring diagrams I could not find any other then that of the one I posted(which is from a 1994 Integra FSM) and the Civic FSM only shows the Civic coupe/hatch diagram and not the sedan's diagram. Do you have any other diagrams?

As of right now I can say only the Integra sedan has a limit switch from 94-96, in 96 both motor p/n's 70450-SR3-003 and 70450-SX0-003 were used. Starting in 97 motor p/n 70450-SX0-003 was only used. Motor p/n 70450-SX0-003 doesn't have the extra plug for the tilt sensor in the diagram, it may still have the tilt sensor thou.

On your moon roof switch wiring, you have the off wiring going to nowhere

Yes, that is how it works now when you release the switch no power nor ground is flowing through the switch. In a sense the switch is "OFF"..
