I have a spare b18b1 ls engine sitting around and was thinking of trying to build it naturally aspirated to try and make 300-400hp but keeping it reliable as I will be putting it in my daily driver. fairly new to Honda motors as I'm a diesel tech. it would be a somewhat long term project I have a year or two before it would need to be done, and I'm trying to not lower the fuel mileage too much because its still going to be my daily. any suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated!! thank you

Without doing an LS/VTEC, maybe 180whp with about 10-15k thrown at it...

You can do 200 but thats absolutly maxing out the motor. Only Honda motor i can think of that can do 400 all motor is a K20/K24 with the Skunk BMF cams and those are not streetable cams.

Wouldn't recommend it for someone that thought a reliable, 400hp all motor, non-VTEC, daily driven 4 banger Honda was possible.

Want a daily driver with 400hp that gets good mpg? Get a corvette. Put that bitch in 6th gear and cruise. About all I can say on this topic.

I will say this though...an integra with around 200whp and gearing is way sportier than you think.

There's this thread on team integra forum called "the krayzie project" made in like '07 that can be really useful, think he got his teg up to around high 250's with his build maybe more.. I'd look there for some answers. As far as gas mileage I think for 400 horse. . You might want to cut some loses if you can even get close to there and be okay with whatever milage lol . Also, get ready to spend up to 9-10k to do it right . Wish I had that money to blow.
