TegSox on your first car what parts did you use to lower it? because im only 16 and without a job and dont have alot of money. when people cut there shocks, springs and the ride gets all messed up, as long as i dont get that when i lower my car im ok with it.
96GSR, since noone else has replied to this section of you post, I figured I might as well, even if it is late. If you don't want to be looking at too much money to lower your car you can get Skunk2 lowering springs for around 200 or you can upgrade to coilovers for about 300. There are many different brands out there that do the same job, but this is the price range you would be looking at for a decent drop.

where can i get the skunk2 lowering springs from for that price?
go to Skunk2.com to look it up. I'm pretty sure u can find a place. look around at ModACar.com and site like it to find out. Most springs on ModACar are around the $150-$200 range. Good luck!

Some people would consider import cars to be "ricers" no matter what, I consider ricers to be cheap cars who buy all of their mods form Auto Zone. You feel a little jump when the vtec kicks in, you'll notice a smoother shift (in manual's)... vtec normally kicks in between 4k & 5k rpm range, but you can get it tuned to start lower, some catbacks don't pass smog, I don't know about carsound, but my A'PEXi passes with no problem. for plugs, i'd go aftermarket, do some reasearch and see what you like the best. When it comes to wires, it really doesn't matter, Honda works.

On a stock GSR, you can't hear or feel VTEC when it activates, Honda made it that way on purpose. It happens at 4400 rpm's every time, it never changes. There is no "little jump", and the car doesn't get loader or louder, either. :p

Carsound cats come with a guarantee that it will pass emissions for the first 25,000 miles of the cats life.

If you need new spark plugs and/or wires, go with OEM, which are NGK. The NGK plug wires are blue and really nice looking, but expensive, so don't bother with new plug wires unless you really need them.

Having a body kit, in my opinion, is rice unless the car actually is as fast as the body kit is making it out to look to be. But that's just me, some people are just all go and no show because that's what they like, that's what they want to do. People do what they like, you should just go ahead and do the same. :)

Ouch, let him dream a little, My advice, go job hunting ASAP, once you get a job THEN you can plan to mod your car, but before then, keep it down, will ya?

bwahaha see that is what I'm laughing about. IMO the best plug wires to get are MSD and I'm not sure about plugs. it would depend on what was done to the car. as far as body kits, I personally dont like them. I used to, but I just grew out of it. kinda like having chrome wheels and altezza's. buff your car out and most of the hard water spots should come out. dont even bother with painting your car unless the clear-coat or something major like that is bad. and dont do any body work if you dont know how. it will ruin it even if you have the right equipment. the suspension I mentioned(tein springs, tokico shocks/struts) are what you should get IMO. A few of my friends have this setup and they love it. or omni power coil-overs. you can find the parts at www.optauto.com or off ebay if you search for a bit. also on www.honda-tech.com they have group buys and shit for the omni stuff. as mentioned before, FIND A JOB, save your money, and RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH before buying parts.

p.s I heard skunk2 springs crack easily. I dont know if its true but I have read and heard and seen pictures about it.

I don't know how good/bad Skunk2 springs are. As I’ve mentioned in previous threads, I bought the car Sunday, but I did a lot of research before I went out and spent my money. All mods on the care came with it, and I haven't done anything else to it (I’ve only had it 2 days). Monday I put it up on a lift and my bud and I did a thorough check on everything. My Skunk2 coilover's are a year old (install date) and have no cracks in them, but they do drive a little stiff. In this thread I have been naming parts off the top of my head, which, of course, are the one's I’ve been researching... mine, for the mere fact that I want to know what this kid did to my car.

The VTEC kick i'm talking about is very familiar to those who have driven a Honda S2000:

PIC HERE

I'm sure if you pay enough attention to your car, you will fell the differance. I sure as hell have, though not as large as the S2k.

I'm telling you, dont do body work by yourself if you dont know how to do it. its alot differant than just sanding the thing down. and leave your spark plug wires alone. you dont need extra spark if you cant supply the voltage anyway. newbies......... <-- ok that was rude but still.....
