LOOKING FORWARD TO ROUND 2 PLEASE NOT THUNDERHILL HAS A 103dB SOUND LIMIT

My friend has driven pretty much a NASA Spec Miata at Thudnerhill with an HKS hi Power axle back and did not get flagged, however Spoon was black flagged with their N1 exhaust. Please keep this in mind - I believe the sound booth is behind the front straight or on the front straight. Pretty sure its after the chicane heading towards the front straight. This will be a critical talking point as we transition to round 3.

EDIT: Also note Laguna Seca has no real run off areas.

I wonder if my Mega Power will be okay for Thunderhill and Laguna Seca... I'd really hate to have to change my setup. Damn noise restrictions...

i think if we lift between 5 and 6 or short shift we will will be fine, Aaron might have to run a silencer or something or lift but we should be okay, you will be fine with the b20 at thunder my buddy had no issues with the HKS and he was WOT the entire time in a NA miata

What's round three? And will I have issues with my n1?
yes at laguna seca

You're running a cat right?
i would say he would still have to lift even with a cat.

because 92db is lower than the legal limit of 95dB. Mine with a cat, and resonators is 95dB im straight piped to a muffler

I wouldnt count those as accurate. There is a lot of things to take into consideration when you measure it, track conditions will play a big role. Air temp, wind, exhaust direction etc. I wish i understood more from my audio class but doing a dB test in your driveway will yeild different results than if you did one on the track.

I don't want to peddle out. It defeats the purpose of having more power if I can't use it coming down the longest straight in the track

what do you mean? none of the sound booths are on a main straight...

Thunderhill i dont think is too strict, laguna seca is. Thats why Evil Genious sells Laguna Spec exhaust systems. good thing i have partial throttle vtec engagement

I wouldn't just park the DC4 on my driveway and measure the sound level a few feet away. I'd probably do some fly-bys down my street just to get some sort of hint to how close the decibel reading is.
