Every week is Christmas when you're building a race car! More Boxes by Austin Rajki, on Flickr Goodies by Austin Rajki, on Flickr Manley Pro-Flow Race valves. Stainless steel once piece valves, Manley advertises up to a 42% increase in flow. That should be a good chunk of increased power. :D :D...

I was able to squeeze some time in the lab between a couple of my classes today. It was just enough time to install the Comp Cams Trunion retrofit kit. I got all the different drivers and other tools I needed to set up the press and proceeded to press all the OEM trunions and bearings out of...

Thanks, Kurt. If it wasn't for the whole time restraint it would be a lot less stressful. Hopefully you're able to get it out soon and check that. Here is a picture of my intake port that I forgot to include. Intake Port by Austin Rajki, on Flickr Well I'm hoping I solved my valve dilemma...

I'd have to trim it quite a bit to clear my roll bar:lol: Did some cleaning on the chassis this weekend. Not as much as I'd like. School and work are draining me. Engine Bay Rust by Austin Rajki, on Flickr Rust Removed and Primed by Austin Rajki, on Flickr This is the under carriage in...

Nothing special. Was at a friend's helping him finish with his rear suspension on the GTI. When we finished I snapped a few quick driveway pictures. Fender flares are arriving tomorrow for this, so the fitment is just for the time being. Front View by Austin Rajki, on Flickr Rear View by Austin...

Good news! I spent a lot of time today measuring every aspect of the crankshaft. Everything measures to be the brand new spec! This crank is not worn at all, even when measured to a tenth of a thousandth of an inch! Diameters are spot on, no taper and no out of round at all. Measuring the...

I feel you there. My garage has so many different lights. One is super bright, one is dull and yellow, the natural light messes with the white balance. It's hard to get right. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I've had the exact same thoughts. Especially when I keep taking it further apart. I look at the wiring harness which is all boxed up and think "I still have to unlock most of it and modify it?" Keep at it though! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

what did you do to your car today?

I always want everything done to absolute perfection, best I can buy. It's a blessing and a curse. Mostly curse. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

To make you feel better LS parts are also some of the most expensive parts I've seen too :( My friend got an entire Comp Cams/Summit rebuild kit, including 30thou over pistons, for less than my cam. Then again my parts are also billet rather than cast. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Piston rings, cam bearings, main bearings and rod bearings will complete the long block. I'm hoping I will be able to order those this Friday. I'm pretty broke, so I'm at the mercy of payday. Canadian to US exchange rate is killing me. Then I have to get fuel rail, injectors, intake manifold...
