Important Tire Fact! READ:
In Europe, it is illegal to have tires over 6 years old on a car. Reason for this is because the rubber is so old (even though it may look new) that the tread will literally blow apart.
Suggestion: As I need to do, replace tires that are this old as you are risking your life and others.

I just had to put new tires on my teg because kind of the same thing happened (not really). I was taking a turn into my neighborhood, and My front right tire just blew, and luckily I could ride to my house without any damage to my rims. But scary shit, cheif. I crashed my ex girlfriends bug into a residential sign when the tire blew. Glad your alright man.
