Okay so i bought a 91 acura integra 4 door from a buddy of mine. He said the battery and alternator were bad. So i tested the battery and the battery had the voltage but didn't hold a charge. So i put my good battery in it i had. I relocated it to the trunk. So after a day or two of having it i took the alternator out and took it to autozone and it passed the tests 3 times. So i put it back in and i took it for a drive( 5 blocks from my house) I pull into my driveway and bam battery light come on.. It goes off if i rev it to 3k rpms. People told me to take the positive cable off of the battery and if it kills its the alt. I used a multi meter and got 12.47v from the battery while the car was running. So my guess is a bad voltage regulator? Please help! Thanks in advance.

I had the exact same problem and it ended up being the wire that hooks to the alternator n runs to the fuse box. I just ran a new wire n left the other one in the harness and it worked perfect.

I can't seem to follow the alt wire to the fuse box? And would the 6g wire running from the engine bay to the trunk be to small and may cause the battery light?

Most battery relocation kits run either 2 or 0 gauge wire. You should probably step up to it.

okay well ill put the battery back in the engine bay with the original wiring and see. I think its not getting enough voltage back to the trunk to charge the battery?
