The black would go nice with the Spoon calipers.
definitely

Next Raceline track day at CVR: February 2012

Be ready. :drive:
i guess i better start ordering more parts then... lol

picked up a set of hardrace rear toe kits and a set of rear trailing arm bushings. decided not to go with spherical because i think it'll be unbearable for daily driving. thanks again to Justin @ TunerSports for coming through with the parts as always, great prices w/ great service FTW!!!

so i tried researching on different brands of types of extended ball joints for the front knuckles/spindles, from J's racing, Buddy Club, Blox, and Hardrace, so after asking around, folks said they are all the same. so this time i sorta went cheapo with BLOX. :smackself: well i woulda went with hardrace like i did with the rest of the stuff however its on backorder from hardrace, weak.....

so yea, a quick trip to the local brake shop, and with a quick turn around. BAM! they are installed. this can be done yourself but its a b****, lol.

The OE bushings in the rear trailing arms are pretty weak. previous owner said he replaced them too, i believe him cause they look pretty new, however he was slammed. With that said... and i talked about this with another member (Craig-toycivic), you're supposed the clock the hard bushings slightly 10 degrees depending on what side. and it makes sense if your car is lowered... especially slammed. but if folks go with the spherical bearing... no worries at all. on a side note, i sorta liked this new brake shop, so im going again tomorrow to drop off the rear trailing arms to have the bushings replaced.

Grrr, I want extended ball joints but the DA doesn't get much love when it comes to them. I heard good things about MFactory too.

totally forgot about mfactory! dont make them for the DA? that blows.

so a little update.

had the bushings installed... good thing i was there too cause they installed 1 side wrong, lol. forgot to snap pics of the hardrace rear toe vs the OE. but its basically like the OE rear upper control arm, just a smaller and shorter version. along with re-installing the rear trailing arms, i removed the ABS sensors, since the jdm 36mm rear trailing arms dont have the mounting holes predrilled. so the 5 lug is officially on.

adios ABS sensors

bling bling blue wheels

the day didn't go totally smooth. the russell ss brake lines required some modification for the rear for some reason. it didn't sit perfect in the rear calipers so i had to bust out the dremel and grind off a slight portion... which was frustrating cause i didn't realize what i needed to do until later on. but no biggy, a little work and BAM!... installed.

if you look, one side is smaller than the other.

next... getting someone to come over and help me bleed the brakes, lol. and then continue trouble shooting the idle problem.

to do or not to do? what do you guys think? kinda sorta need it to complete the mo0o0ogen but...

here's why

aside from being a tad short on each side (i can sorta deal with, thinking about ways to extend the foil), i will need to add some sorta filler at the bottom so its fits flush.

Mooogen! :thumbs up
with a splash of sh-poon

i wonder what it would look like when complete..and i see you finally got a 98 bumper
iono... i wonder too... lol. i want another 98 bumper!!! i got plans for that one too :p

I've never really been a fan of the Gen 2
yea, me either. thats why i have a spare trunk 8)

a small update. so i tried to bleed the brakes last night... started pumping the brakes.... POP!... drip drip... the side that i didn't dremel off started leaking fluid. DAMMIT >.<

so busted out the dremel again and went at it... put it back together, started pumping the brakes... did a leak check... phew. wasn't a total disaster had the lil sis come pump the brakes laster on while i bled the brakes. everything appeared to be bueno

also snapped a shot of the extended ball joint in action. what i forgot to do was take a before picture... if anyone is bored and wanna donate i shot, feel free. haha. everything lines up straight and parrallel to the ground. definitely drops the car an inch... the front looks slammed. but with the 16x8 setup... quarter panels will for sure need to be rolled, fronts you might get away with... but thats whats the j's fender is for :p

its been done... its easy too. i have a semi- DIY write up... maybe you can complete it.
