cluster removal

How do you take cluster out? I've gotten the bezel off. And everything in plugged from behind it. Wires and what not. Which sucked, for some reason its still attached. I can't pull it out at all. Even after all screws are out. Is there one hiding? Or is there something behind the cluster keeping me from pulling it out. Sad..my speedo cable squeakes. So id like to replace it. Or is the cable what is keeping me from pulling it? Sorry for long post. Any help helps a lot.

The cable is probably what is holding it up. The cluster has screws in it too though, after you remove the trim around it you need to remove two or four screws. They should be easy to spot, after those- it should wiggle a little. Unhook the speedometer from the transmission and yank it out.

Be warned- the speedometer cable is a bitch to change.

This was my first thought as well.

I had the same issue when I first pulled my cluster out, I unhooked everything and only had like half an inch of wiggle room. I thought it was the wiring holding it in- turned out the speedo cable just needed pulled on lol.
