I also think the non official rule implemented by the mods a while ago you cant say search when the noobs ask a simple question. You need to show them a thread or answer their question.
I dont agree with this, but its just me. I dont think telling someone to help themselves is necessarily anything to infract or ban someone over.

that policy fixed alot of problems a few years ago. This lasted until alot of og members left.

I disagree. Sure there are lots of good members here now, but as I stated- people come and people go. We won't ALL be here forever. I've been on forums for years, and then just slowly started logging on.. and now I never go on. It's just a matter of time. Sell the Teg, start logging on less and less, and eventually stop all together. It will happen. Except for me, i'll be here forever. Too much money into the Integra to sell.

You guys are stuck with me until I get banned for a rule that just got made up on the spot.

This is where Team-Integra shines, and the fact that repetitive posts asking questions already answered by previous threads, or in the articles dont last long. Nor does peoples tolerance for idiots who cant use a simple search button.
I agree completely here. There does need to be more moderation in things like that- just because they're new to the site, does not mean they should get a pass because they can't use the search function. You have to admit you never see retarded posts on Team-Integra like "How do I make my LS more fast?" They monitor EVERYTHING there. Hell, you can't even post up without being helpful. I do NOT want to see ClubIntegra turn into Team-Integra, but I do agree there should be a bit of moderation on new guys posting.

Also, Alex- I posted up some "FAQ" type things in the sticky at the top of the Forced Induction thread. Whenever someone has a question that's been answered, refer them to that. Add to it as you wish- just don't post comments in that sticky. Hopefully it will help cut back on the excessive retardation of new members.

i could careless. im only posting pics of my car because i like to show-off and want peoples opinion.

i dont care if you dont like me or my car. At the end of the day im making myself happy.

/end rant
And that's the biggest issue. YOU are a perfect example of how it SHOULD be. People come here and post a picture of what they have done, and expect everyone on the forum to love it and compliment them- but that's not how the world works. People need to understand that not everyone will agree with them, and some will think what they have done looks like crap. When they hear "That looks like crap." they automatically jump to "You effin blah blah explicit explicit blah blah."

that policy fixed alot of problems a few years ago. This lasted until alot of og members left.
People come and go all the time. I think there's no reason to hang up on a few "OG members" going away. Or ANY member leaving for that matter. People that are "OG's" to Dyan, are probably not even known to the new guys. People like Dylan, will probably be considered OG to a lot of the new guys. OG's come and go, for all different reasons. If they can't handle the way a forum is operated or how things are- they can leave. I think making a thread about "I'm leaving because of blah blah blah." is a really immature way to handle it- as you recently saw with whatever his name was.

I don't think rep is the problem, and personally rep doesn't mean as much to me. It certainly lets people know who's liked and disliked though. People do not get -100 rep for being popular and giving the correct answers everywhere- they obviously did something to piss somebody off. If they were giving good information all the time they would get their rep back rather quickly.

I think the biggest thing that needs to be done is that a set of rules needs to be written, and that set needs to be inforced regularly. You can't just say "Hey stop that." then let it go for weeks, and then out of no where, with no warning, start slapping bans down. If anything "Hey stop that, THIS is your warning."

I think i've ranted enough for now.

I don't think that was long enough, will you please elaborate some more :)

I wonder if the guy who is writing the 10 page paper will be able to use this, lol?

we dont need MORE members. We have plenty of sponsors and merchants. and I have never looked up the ratings of a forum before I joined. I looked at what info was there, how active it was (by posts not number of members) and the kind of people that were there. TBH, at this point, I probably wouldnt join CI right now if I saw how the senior guys and the knowledgeable people are being treated and how much slack is given to people who dont bother to help themselves and dont take advice.
The amount of members and activity on a site are things advertisers and sponsors use to see if they should spend the money on the site. So if we care about having Clubintegra stay available we are going to care about ratings. Do you guys care, most likely not, but you would if you didn't have any forum to get on. No one out there wants to pay for all this server space and useage out of their own pocket.

One more thing, why are people worried about people asking repetitive questions? No one forces members to respond to threads so if you see a dumb thread, don't respond and eventually if the person really needs the information, they will fond it elsewhere. That saves a lot of time for everyone, but no, people choose to answer or start something because they want some drama. Just ignore the stupid threads and they will go away!

No, the reason why this site is going downhill is because theres more moderation in terms of

"omfg this guy called me a faggot" instead of moderation of information for threads like "how do I boost my car?"

"what exhaust is best", "should i itr wing my car?" "how many psi can i push on my motor"

I think every other day there is some dumbass asking the same question in the forced induction forum, and it goes along the lines of

"what do I need to boost my car? how much power can i push? is an ebay turbo ok to use? do I have to be tuned?"

s*** that can be looked up anywhere else with a quick google search.

This is where Team-Integra shines, and the fact that repetitive posts asking questions already answered by previous threads, or in the articles dont last long. Nor does peoples tolerance for idiots who cant use a simple search button.

On another topic, I got banned from this site for correcting a moderator. Kind of bs if you ask me. Calls us a bunch of f***ing newbs then recommends reusing stock headstuds for a boosted build. This isnt the type of stuff I would condone if I ran a website.

Just my .02 take it how you will.
this site was great despite the number of noob threads. i know i have not been a member for too long but once the rep system started everything went downhill way too fast. if someone posts a thread about some dumb question then dont answer to it.

In fact, that is not even the real problem. the problem is that people dont have enough respect for other members, this is where the problem is. i could honestly care less if there are a thousand threads about what exhaust to get, just ignore them or actually answer the question instead of being an ass to them. i bet anything that at some point in time you didnt know jack about cars, and you learned by asking questions so why disrespect the people that are trying to learn?

Then all you have is people bumping their threads asking questions.

Why would you have a website that caters to idiots who cannot even fend for themselves when it comes to automotives? Is that what clubintegra is about?

Ignoring questions?
Allowing stupid questions to keep popping up?

You wanna baby these members? wipe their ass for them too? I dont understand why people want to be spoon fed information, yet you suggest looking the other direction. Doing this wont make those threads go away, itll only make people think that those types of threads are ok, thus creating more. These are the types of people who wont go looking for these answers elsewhere. If you ask a stupid question, you think that persons smart enough to go looking for the answer elsewhere?

There was a time where I didnt know anything about our cars. I didnt sit there and make 10 threads a day asking questions. I looked up articles that other people made during their free time so I didnt have to waste someone elses time.

I don't think ignoring threads is a good way to go about it. How soon until all the threads are ignored? I'm trying my best to try to reduce them though. I have posted more information on the Forced Induction sticky, and I have made the How-To list. I will continue doing things as I can, but I really wish people would learn to search. Nothing you can really do about it though.

Really people?
I think that saying "This site went downhill because of the rep." is a really really dumb statement. You and I both know people didn't stop coming here because this guy has so much rep or this guy negative repped me.

Perhaps there have been more troll threads recently, but saying that people are trolling specifically to get rep or that someone is or isn't doing something because of rep- well that's just ridiculous.

unless there's going to be changes to the rep system to prevent folks from abusing it... then IMO, remove it.

mainly limit the amount of pos/neg rep & include the user name in the feedback.

Thanks for posting some faq in the forced induction forum. + rep.

when it's used properly it can be an invaluable tool for newcomers to figure out whose opinions to regard as more useful. It helps them quickly distinguish who has knowledge and experience and who talks out of their ass.
When it becomes a scorecard for a popularity contest it's useless.
