Remove the Rep System?

With recent complaints and abuse in the rep system I've been asked by a few members to remove it. Do you think it should be removed?

When it's used properly it can be an invaluable tool for newcomers to figure out whose opinions to regard as more useful. It helps them quickly distinguish who has knowledge and experience and who talks out of their ass.
When it becomes a scorecard for a popularity contest it's useless.

I agree alot of people have over inflated rep counts and are probably based on popularity.

I'll agree with this and what Broken said. When used properly, it's a great indication to newer members as to who is a credible source of information versus just random advice and nothing to back it. IMO, the rep. system has been abused a lot on Club Integra, so it's a little hard to tell who has earned it by being helpful and giving solid advice versus who has gained it because they've picked on someone else and other people found it funny.

The only members who really know are the ones who've actually been around a while and have learned who can help you out when you need it. That's how I learned. So...normally I don't care either way, but in this case, I think a few people have ruined it for the rest of the site. It sucks, but it probably would be better removed. lol Less tears will be shed...

agree with what is said above, it seems like too many people get offended when they get negative rep and it makes the people on the site mad at eachother

I don't see any benefit in keeping it.

It can go. It was abused from the get go.
If it stays it needs to be monitored and only approved if it is a legitimate pos or neg rep

I think it should be kept and filtered thru to weed out pointless rep points. Even existing points, yes, many will be removed from everyone, but it needs more filtration

I vote to eliminate it altogether. Even the tech section gets cluttered with people looking to rep others because they couldn't do it in the lounge.
