insurance issue?

i dont know much about insurance but i am ultra confused right now.

my mom works for an insurance company so she handles my insurance claim and all. but i do pay for it myself.

i have zero points on my record but i do have about 5 fix it tickets. i paid for all of them but 1 shows on my driving record which made my insurance more expensive.

is that supposed to happen?

also i need a beater car because i dont want to dd the integra that i currently own. i know i can add multiple cars under my insurance but would i have to pay a lot more than i already do? or would i have to pay the same amount i already pay on top of the integra that is under my name?

thank you in advanced

Why don't you want to daily your integra?

Each car has it's own policy

you can get multiple car discount. But 2 cars is NOT enough to qualify with most states b

If I were you I'd check into getting a motorcycle, or a Honda rukkus. Insurance would be about 200/yr and you'll get 40+mpg

Most first tier insurance companies charge young drivers based on their age, record and their classification of your car. Older more experienced drivers get charged on their record and what the value of the car is. All in all it is legalized gambling with the odds on their side. You pay your money and you take your chances.

My insurance company also looks at crash testing and the repair cost index. When I was buying a car for my son, they quoted insurance for a small pickup truck more expensive that a Miata. We bought the Miata.

I dont daily my Integra anymore because I realized how much it sucks to have it as a daily.
Both of them felt the same except my DA had no ABS.

Back to topic.
As far as I know, I didnt think fix it tickets show on your record.

But then again I can see why too. Certain things can be dangerous like a headlight out.

If you get enough fix-its, especially if it's for the same issue, then they can show up on your record, especially if you don't pay asap/fix asap. Adding multiple cars is called "Stacking" but depending on your insurance company, won't impact with only two cars. I have USAA, and we have like 6 cars on our policy, so it's discounted. Also, if the car is in your name, and the policy is written to you, then it will always cost more because you are a higher liability as a young driver and your credit is low because you are young. It's about 300 dollars cheaper a year for me to have my policy written to me under my dad, then directly to me on my own. My 99 GSR with 120K miles currently is liability only while she isn't being driven much, costs me a bit under 600 a year. I turn 21 in a 3 days and have 1 speeding ticket, and 1 failure to display registration ticket.

my mom does not want to answer the question for me because she does not understand why i need two cars

Why don't you want to daily your integra?

If you still live at home, you dont need 2 cars.. dont get mad at me, because I want 2 too.. But save your money since its apparent your mom wont buy you one, and if something happens to your car, use theirs.

trust me, I've gone through a snapped timing belt, tire blow out, and something else within 5 months :/

You have three other cars in your backyard and you want another one??

But yes, you have to pay for each car you have. And a fix it ticket should not show up because it is not a moving violation or some bullshit like that. How old are you? Your ins will be high until you reach 25, then you get a cheaper rate. Unless your a girl because for some reason they think girls are better drivers but I think their stats are skewed. If you want cheap ins sell the teg and get a corolla :) as they say, you have to pay to play. My ins is 1,600/yr but I have full coverage and a bad record :)

If I had a choice between trusting my life with a female asian driver or a male asian driver.. I'd pick the male..

besides, an integra is a beater car.... unless yours is a show car.. but I already know its probably not since you told us you sold your other cars because of financial reasons trololol

I'm 19 now, and full coverage on my RX8 was $700 every 6 months with State Farm, and after my accident, now its $400 for every 6 months for liability coverage :p
