I have an aftermarket header and have never had an issue with it getting so hot it melts my hoses. What's the clearance look like? Buy some nice colored Mishimoto ones from me:)

It doesn't melt the hoses or anything like that, I'm just concerned that the header is getting the engine bay too hot and making the hoses weaker, so they break faster. Also, for some reason my engine is consuming a shit load of oil, I changed my oil 2k miles ago and the oil is barely registering on the dip stick. I don't see any leaks or white smoke so I'm confused on that also. Also, do you travel on the freeway alot?

Yea, mostly highway miles, I drive rough. What header is it? The hoses will get a bit warmer, but they'll be okay, if you are that paranoid about it get a hose and stick it in your trunk just in case.
