looking to buy an integra
hi everybody, im new to integras and new to the forum. i am interested in buying a 91 integra, it is a manual and pretty much stock everything with 260k miles. im not really interested in racing it out, but i was planning on using it as a daily driver for my commutes. i wont be running it too hard, basically highway miles back and forth to work.

my question is, what should i be looking out for when i go to check this car out? what are some tell tale signs to common or infamous problems with these particular cars. the person selling it told me that the oil light comes on and off periodically, no check engine lights are on, the passenger power window is starting to go, the hazard lights dont work and that it runs loud at freeway speeds. she says her dad thinks its the u joints. she says the engine and tranny are pretty strong and that the body is straight. clean title, and shes the second owner.

she wants 1000 for it, but im looking to get it for no more than 800. how does this sound? thansk in advance for anyone with info, advice or tips.

Wow $1,000 seems too much for a 91 with that much miles on it.... i bought a 93 DA for $1,100 with no problems, and a free tsudo muffler.... only 170k miles on it. I wouldn't even pay $800 for it man. The engine is pretty much gone.... IMO you should keep looking :)

thanks for the advice fellas. the body looks pretty straight, and im pretty decent at rebuilding motors, it's transmissions that im afraid of. i was wondering if there were any tell tale noises or clues that the tranny is ready to go, but if you say even 800 might be too much for this thing, i think i might pass. i already set up a meeting with her to test drive it this afternoon (pac time), would it even be worth it to offer maybe 500 for this thing if it runs ok? or am i asking for trouble?
