Man, that would be tough! I've been in a similar spot, but only 8 years, and even that sucked... But got sick of everything being my fault. No matter what.

yea it got way worse for me when the owners son came in and i got no help, i guess its expectations on my end, but after i got my kidney infection earlier this year and then needed surgeries and have no sick time, it was a eye opener againfor me that i need better benefits, i have a wife and family i have to take care of.

Man, exactly the same reasoning here. I got FUCKED on my benefits when a new owner bought the company, got an offer from the company I am currently with and couldn't refuse. Never looked back. I am now pushing (but have not quite hit) 6 digits, get almost 4 weeks vacation a year. Can set my own schedule within reason. The flip side is that I work my ASS off, but its recognized! Ma and Pop businesses are severely limited...

sweet man, im really happy for you! yea, the mom and pop can only do so much and my boss, the owner is 73, so who knows how much longer she will want to do it. i'm taking a pay cut, but in the long run its better and easier on me.

If you're taking a pay cut, I would take the job, but keep looking. Knowledge is money. I didn't go to college, but I know I'm good at what I do, I don't sell myself short.

i should be back to where im at in a few, i just cant do it anymore. fleet maintance in air conditioning, no public to deal with or parts bs. i turnrd down a dealer job a while back, i cant do the rip off crap either. i actually beat out 77 people

My competitors are forever trying to get me to go over there. Their most recent offer was to start a department doing my favorite part of the business and getting to manage everything about it - fml for being loyal.
Tonight I get to go do stupid shit at one of my houses since others can't be trusted to do their job

Haha, I hear you on the rip off crap, I gotta buddy who works at a dealership. I don't know how he does what he does. Got another friend who takes her vehicles to said dealership, gets diagnoses, then calls me :). I save her hundreds, if not thousands...
