Alright so about a week ago I take my teg out for a drive, I get to my friends, then as were leaving, I get to the stop sign and as I'm giving it gas there's no acceleration,

It was idleling at about 1000 rpm and when I gave it gas it only jumped to about 1300 (and I'm giving it at least 2500 worth) so I try letting off the clutch a bit and my RPM just drop and I stall..I tried turning the car on again and my RPM didn't really move much it stayed below 1000, then the car sounded weaker and weaker then it eventually died,

then eventually It wouldn't start at all, it just cranks but doesn't turn over. I haven't really had a chance to mess with it much cause of work, I'm guessing it might be the fuel pump? I tried turning it on this morning and it turned over for about a second then just died out.

not too sure what it would be but its my fuel system or my ignition system forsure,

any Idea where I can start before I go through the hastle of replacing the fuel pump? (i'm not about to drop 500+ for a shop to do the fuel pump change for me)

any input would really help, this is first teg so I'm still learning off it.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure I'm getting spark, there was oil in the spark plug holes but I replaced the VC gasket so I'm good, I'm sure the spark plugs are working good tho

sounds like its a fuel problem. you can try checking the line and the fuel filter, pressure regulator and injectors.

I second the filter suggestion, its cheap and most used cars need a new fuel filter anyway, lol... You need to verify if it is getting spark, don't assume.

I had a similar problem , it was my distributor rotor , if there is no fuel problems I would check there?

Ok well I figured out it was my fuel pump so I went ahead and bought a new one and put it in myself BUT it still wasn't turning on,

so after being fed up with the car I took it to a shop and was charged $300 for the shop to basically tell me I was pinching the power wire to the fuel pump thats why it wasn't turning on...so I spent about 450 for this fuel pump situation,

now after I got it back the car jerks alot now, like as if its not getting a steady flow of fuel, would this make the car overheat? cause now I have overheating issues, I was thinking maybe my fuel filter but I've herd mixed responses, I've herd that a fuel filter change is required and some say its not necessary for your car to run fine.

so my questions, because there isn't a steady flow of fuel would that cause my engine to overheat? and would getting a new fuel filter end the weird jerking my car is doing?

maybe try running a fuel injector cleaner and changing the fuel filter just to be safe. The overheating issue is something else I think, was it doing it before ?

Yeah it was overheating before but I got it under control bought a new thermostat and put fresh coolant but now it's all acting up again

i had the same problem as well. pull the distributor cap and see what the contacts look like. if they look like they are getting smashed into it could be the bearings in the distributor rotor

no white smoke ?
leaking fluids ?
when the last time you change your water pump
no smoke
No leaking fluid
and my pump works I herd it a few days ago it was hissing cause it was low so I replaced the fluid in it so it does work

is it possible my thermostat already broke?..
