drop that b**** asap
I think it has an aftermarket suspension. it feels too solid for a 97 and it doesnt drop as much with weight. it has a Graham Axles sticker and the front struts look new. The springs look kinda old tho.

I like... lol

I just dont like the transmission... What I've noticed, is that in neutral, the max rev is like 3k? Then it bounces off... I think thats like launch control? Idk why it'd be in here lol. But I wonder if that has anything to do with the tranny clunk feel..
Idk what I rev at. Mine doesnt even have a tach. I feel like buying a small one, just to know wtf the idle is doing. It seems normal, but Im curious to know, the cold, warm, driving, shifting, etc...

What do you mean tranny clunk?

You should check the pedal assembly. When I bought it, it was grinding gears because the clutch rod wasnt being depressed all of the way because the clutch assembly had worn enough to have some play in it. It eventually snapped and I had to get a new pedal assembly. I guess this happens to a lot of Rangers from different years... the pedal assembly is aluminum. I think the guy sold it to me thinking it had a tranny problem, because he lubed it enough for me to get home and not notice. It was bathed in grease.

Like, when I'm flooring it, and the poor engine is trying its best, when it downshifts, it makes the most terrible clunk that you can feel, like oh shit, it just downshifted.. lol. its an auto.. you dont get that with a manual more than likely, as you are in control. Their automatic is horrible

you can swap the the gauge cluster out for one with a tach its a plug and play...but yes you should slam it...kinda like this...

I'm going to have to hit up the junks for a cluster. Except the milage will be off :(
I won't be lifting or slamming because I need something more functional since I do need to hit up rural areas with the truck and help out at the farm. I'm really starting to like this truck more than I thought I would. :D

It's a great little truck. I'm going to try to load it up with 1000lbs... I wonder if it will break.

Cast Iron block homie ;)

I got 25mpg last time I checked. Not bad. I've only filled 3 times in the last 700 miles. One time wasn't a full fill because I still had gas. lmao

700 miles+ in 3 weeks. not baddd

IT HAPPENED!
Guys I officially really like this truck.

I don't think I will ever go to a small car again unless it's my build / sport car OR it is my family car. (Future wifeys)
My work car will be a small ford ranger haha

REASONS:

1. Good MPG
2. Can carry crap in the back
3. Can go anywhere with dirt
4. I don't worry about it getting stolen
5. Don't worry about dings (It is a truck afterall)

etc....

Mainly, peace of mind.

I used to look back at my Teg hoping it wouldnt get hit or stolen.
Now, I'm carefree.

This is how I feel both of my car and my work truck (separately like you[especially since its not even my truck])

My friend has a mid 90s suburban, and 2 70s-80s blazers, and he just got an early 90s dodge pickup, and he loves it because it gets great mpg like yours haha
