wiring help? =/

i have a 91 integra ls, recently my fuse for the cluster, license plate lights, and tail lights blew, so, i replaced it, and it blew as soon as i switched my lights on, 3 times its done this, it can be a whole mess of problems i know that, i was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to isolate the problem maybe, much appreciated, i love the car, but if i cant get this problem isolated and taken care of, im gonna have to sell it, have no money to take it to a shop, any tips would be a big help.

You could always trace the wires back to those lights from the block. look for any breaks, or pinches. may have to pull some pannels, but it will be worth it and cheaper. Wiring is a pain in the ass in general so good luck bro.

I would almost bet you have an aftermarket cd player,correct??
You will answer yes to this question..
Then I say hey pull it out and unwire it.. Then put another fuse in and see if it blows.. (it won't)
Then I say wire the cd player back in and make sure all wires are taped up. NONE BARE OR UNTAPED WHATSOEVER!!
Tada!! Problem fixed lol.
Personal experience is a mean bitch.
Do this and I will pretty much guarantee your problem will be fixed.

However if u are still rocking the stock tape player (which I doubt) then I can't help you

Hope this helps you so u don't spend weeks rewiring shit like I did lmao.

wiring problem

you could pull the cluster and all other components affected and look for burn marks. check all bulbs and bulb housings for melting and the license plate lights for water. check behind the radio and check the illumination wire to make sure its not grounding out as well, orage with a white stripe if you have an aftermarket radio harness in. red with black stripe if its just the factory radio.

well thanks guys, ill give all of these suggestions a try, i looked at all my taillight lighting and license lights, and none are corroded at all, im just gonna gut it tomorrow, this is the first time its happened, every time i switch my lights on, the only fuse that blows is taillight one, ill tape up all my wires just in case though, ill let you guys know if its still actin up, thanks

This exact thing happened to my '93. Replaced my head unit and al of a sudden not dash or tail lights. Replaced the fuse and blew again. So knowing the only thing I had done was mess with the radio I pulled it and realized I had just enough exposed wire and taped it and tucked the wires gently and was fixed

I had an issue with my old pontiac sunbird where the power wire to my head unit grounded out and started smoking under the dash. Sadly I was on a curvy on-ramp when this happened and while I was staring at the smoke, I jumped the left side curb of the curve and jumped into highway traffic.
Luckily, no one ran into me but the lower control arm on the left driver side looked like a pretzel and the car wouldn't turn right. Thank God the Spare tire fit well enough to allow me to limp it home 52 miles down the highway at 50mph.

always check your wiring and where it's routed!!
And if at all possible, use a wire loom in places where there is sharp metal edges.
