Thanks for the luck. I'm not sure what compelled me to get this dumb car. I think I just wanted something different. I don't think I'll be able to get anything before maybe March though. It sucks a lot.

Pictures of the Z. It's not a show car. It didn't run great before. I think I just jumped at the idea of having a turbo.

Well.. just an update. Someone should be coming to pick up the broken Z for $1000 on Saturday night. Working on getting a decent part time job so I can find an LS and snatch that up. If I find one on a used car lot, then I will see about getting some payments so I can get myself into this thing. If something looks good I might pay up front with cash. I will keep you guys updated when I start finding stuff.

I'm wanting a clean white or silver LS. 98-01. 5 speed.

Welcome to the club homie! Im nate. There is a clean black 95 ls 5speed on craigslist in the STL area. Its a little older than what your looking for but it would be a good start. I've looked at the post 100 times or so. $3500 with 125xxx miles. I live about 50 miles south of St Louis so I'm always creepin craigslist for teggys. :lol:

I might break down and get an older one. I guess it just depends on what is available when I'm ready to buy, and how long I'm willing to wait to find something.

Clean, clean, clean. That is more important to me than anything else.

Edit:

I remember seeing something that listed the differences between the different years of the third gens, but now I can't find it. Can I get some assistance? :D

Okay. So I have found a 2001 GSR, black on black, blades, a/c and ps, leather, sunroof, pretty much top notch. It looks clean as hell in the ad, and they are asking $3,900. Sounds like a good deal to me assuming the body really is as clean as it looks. I will not buy a car if it has any rust on it what so ever, unless it is a tiny pinhead size spot that I can have fixed in the wheel well and not worry about paint. Carfax shows 3 owners, accident free, +$xxx above retail, good report.

Now for the reason I am making this post. 196,348 miles. It is getting up there. I will be rebuilding the head Fall 2012, and overhauling the entire motor Fall 2013. Along with rebuilding the transmission somewhere along the way. I just don't know how many miles are too many. Assuming it was properly maintained before, will the bearings and rings generally last 220k+ miles?
