i recently replaced the throwout bearing and clutch release spring and cable on my da. When the tranny is off the car i can pull the clutch arm all the way up and it springs down like normal. the throwout bearing comes out when arm is lifted and pulled back down by the spring like normal with full play. im sure its all installed right if the spring was backwards itd just flop and my pedal would go to the floor. ok so i put the tranny back ou the car and now the arm comes up about an inch and then stops and cannot be lifted any higher without great force. my cable is loosened with the nut all the way to the top and i cant get the cable on. When forced on with a jack i have no play from the adjustment nut to the tranny arm er watever its just tight and cant be lifted. ive got no adjustment and theres no way i could get the cable back off without a jack to lift that arm.my pedal is also very stiff and then gives at the bottom to a dead spot where it doesnt wanna come back right away with my foot i can pretty much only granny shift it. it had adjustment before but now its tight with the adjustment nut all the way at the top. its like as soon as the throwout bearing hits the pressure plate it becomes solid and then pushes past its pivot point when i push the clutch giving me the dead spot. i have a exedy cable thats a little longer than stock and its tucked down out of sight but still has plenty of play and seemed to work before but then again my clutch has pretty much always been shitty. my throwout bearing was broken when i went to replace it so i thought that was the problem but i just cant figure it out. any help would be greatly apreciated

U need to take the two bolts out of the bracket that holds the cable to the trans and then with the adjuster screw all the way to the top slide the cable thru the arm on the trans then bolt the bracket back to trans and run adjuster back down till there is very little or no slack. Then u should be all good.
And the arm only coming up an inch or so without force is right. This is because the throwout bearing is hitting against the forks in the clutch disk like it's supposed to. And you should NOT push on the arm with a jack because u can bend it then your fucked! So just unbolt the bracket and put the cable thru the round part if the arm and then bolt the bracket back on and adjust the adjuster screw thing down until that inch of free play is almost gone.
This will get rid of your dead spot also.
Try doing it this way then lmk how it works or if u have any other questions I will try to answer them :D
Hope this helps

help me please

well i have the cable on now and the adjustment nut is all the way at the top but the inch of free playon the arm is gone and the cable cant be adjusted down its just tight no play thats my problem ur sayin if i take it apart and do it that way it will have more play? cuz i had to force it on with the adjustment nut all the way at the top. it doesnt make sense u know wat i mean? with that adjustment nut at the top i should be able to slip it on easily and have adjustment. on mine i have to raise the arm that inch and then a little to even get the cable on with the nut all the way to the top and once its on everythings tight i cant turn the adjustment nut down or move the arm or nothing its just tight n my pedal is all wacky im losin it haha
