I have to say I dont think all black looks good. Partially tinted I like, for instance the turn, reverse, or both. Something like what Charly[horse] has done looks fine to me.

And when they are pitch black on a black car its down right dangerous at night. Ive almost hit a black mustang on the highway one night that merged in front of me just out of range of my lights. Couldnt see anything in front of me it was all black. Next thing I know he slams on the brakes and I see them light up and I have to swerve around him. His running lights worked, but the visible distance was less than two car lengths. Now I was paying attention, I doubt many people would be on that lonely highway at that time at night. If you get rear ended by someone at night and you have done that to your tail lights, get ready for it to be your fault. That would be a very easy win if taken to court.

I like the partial on most color cars, just seemed right with the black lol. That pic on mine is an iPhone pic from about one car length, in full daylight. We tested the visibility because I was afraid of the same situation. With non leds or anything, running lights only, brakes are visible from roughly 50-60 feet in the daylight. We tried a day or so later at the store and the visibility at night was a good 50 yards or so.

You can buy tinted headlight housings on ebay, not very expensive. That way you can replace them if you change your mind, or if you start having trouble with cops. I'm guessing they would look better then the spray on tint, but I guess it depends on how dark you are trying to get.
