Hey CI ,i have been offline for pretty much the entire summer, and it was horrible. the last some of you heard from me was when i had just bought a very nice 2000 LS. i bought the car for $3800, i had about $45 left in my bank account, a little bit of cash and a week and a half before payday. skip 6 days ahead....the day after easter and i had an appointment to go to down town for school. i was driving on a road i drive on almost every day and about 500 yards from where i was the speed limit jumps from 35-45.....im going 40. the road is a 5 lane road notorious for having bad drivers, there are no cars going in the same direction as i am so a black audi a4 turns left from the left side of the road and uses the center lane as a merge lane. the car was right behind my a-pillar. suddenly, without any signal or even brake lights the car turns from the center lane into a driveway on the very right side of the road, which happens to be about 50 feet in front of where my car is.
the next thing i remember is a very loud ringing in my ears and seeing nothing but gray..... the car i spent all my money on and only owned for 6 days was destroyed. i hit the other car going 40 mph, dead center of mine directly on the back wheel of theirs. it turns out the driver of the a4 is a 75 year old lady. i go over and ask what she was doing and find out that she couldnt remember... i asked her if she even saw me and she said yes, but i was way down the road and i must have been going very fast. about 15 seconds later she said "oh yes, i remember i was going to go into the bank and when i turned left and i saw you then i just turned right into the bank"
so there i was standing on the curb watching as my new car gets pulled away by a tow truck right back to my driveway where it has been resting for the past 4 months. without any collision insurance the most i could get back is $500 from MI state no fault
the status now is still broken.... i have almost all the parts needed to get the car in condition to drive again and all for a very good deal, the car will be going to the shop soon for the frame straightening and installation of a new core support, should be back on the road again very soon............i hope
