What happened? How did goodyear crack your rims?
The bottom clamps on the tire mounting machine were on the inside of the rim, not the outside... So there were 4 sets of 2 dots on the inside of the only 2 rims I brought in to get tires. I've never had an air leak the 4 months I've owned the damn thing, but now I do, suddenly after getting new tires installed? Interesting.
Since I had to rush to work after I got the rims back finally, I didnt get to mount them myself, so I asked my dad if he could do it whenever he had a free chance, and he calls me up to tell me they're cracked and that he was gonna take it to Wheel Works down the street to get them checked out, and that guy says "As long as it holds air, its fine", and obviously they were not, as the tire pressure dropped to 19 psi after 7 days or so since new tires. Interesting again.
I took it to Wheel Works today to get another opinion based on the fact that do indeed have an air leak, and I mentioned someone there said they were fine, and he asked who said that, because they were very wrong, its not okay. I personally noticed the wheel weights were crooked... And supposedly this guy had 12 years experience swapping tires, so WTF again? The Wheel Works guy today told me that it was a half ass job and that I need to get it taken care of asap, which will be Monday morning.
Regardless, the mounter passed me the rims without telling me they were cracked... So wtf is that? True, I should have inspected them, but I was rushed cuz of work. And the supposed "same exact tires" were a different tread pattern now, so I was looking at just that.
Anyways, I got work at f***in 7 again, so I need to get sleep. Feel free to check the pics I took of my rims before I gave them to Goodyear, see if you can find any existing cracks around the edge
I couldnt find any either. Heres the actual crack thats letting air out. The other cracks are similar
