^ This. The issue is packaging. IHI make some very potent turbo's, in fact some of the newer ones VF48 and VF52 are very very nice. The VF48 is a contender versus the legendary 16G. Most of the nicer IHI turbo's you come across are packaged for Subaru use. But im sure you could pull the CHRA out and put them in a new housing, but given all the work and cost of parts involved you may be better off getting something off the shelf. There's nothing inherently wrong with them. Apexi built some quality systems based on IHI turbos. The only issues are, they are not inherently popular within the Honda crowd so off the shelf, compatible components aren't as widely available. Of course an improperly sized, top notch turbo won't perform worth a crap when out of it's element. It would obviously depend on what turbo it is, and what your expectations and supporting mods are (would be?).
I wouldnt bother with them then. Those are not very potent at all. They came on Mazdas like the 626. I think the Ford probe might have gotten it too? But either way dont even waste your time/effort on them. The turbos are VJ11 9012.
Yea you saw that compressor map too? :lol:210CFM @ maximum efficiency of 75% a hair under 2.0 pressure ratio......YIKES!
