Car off, Oil Light comes on; Car on, Oil Light goes off

With the car off and even with the key out, the Oil light comes on in red and stays on. This is the only time the light comes on. When the car is on, etc, the oil light is off.

I checked the oil level and everything is normal. I'm not entirely sure what's going on. Has this happend to anyone; or can anyone shed some light on this particular issue?

Gotta have something feeding or back feeding the cluster when the car is off... Start pulling fuses one at a time, see if it goes out...

Thats really weird enderson. Never heard of that. Faulty oil pressure sensor?

When you turn the key to "on" with out starting it the cel, battery light, and oil light will come on. When you start the car they go off.

Read closer, it stays on when the key is out. Otherwise you are correct.

You have to have a short somewhere, I would actually guess in your dash, that is feeding voltage back to ground, through the bulb. When you start your car, that path is likely interrupted, or there is an easier path to ground. I realize this may be no help whatsoever :) Is your oil light the ONLY light on?

I would actually start by looking at the oil switch and unplugging it then checking if it come on again
With the key out, ALL voltage SHOULD be cut from the cluster. The issue is that voltage is getting to the cluster when it shouldn't. With the car off, the car WILL have low oil pressure, its just that the signal should never make it to the cluster with the key out (ignition off). This is why I don't think it is the switch :) Caps added for emphasis, not yelling, haha...
