also, the electoral college needs to be disbanded. thats unnecessary funding and time. I refuse to vote because of the possibility of my vote going to the opposite of who I voted for just pisses me off. one vote per person. candidate with most votes wins. period.

and whats up with DC and kids under the age of 18 who work not being able to vote? taxation without representation.

and I love how GM got a bail out when the average public schools teachers yearly salary is about 30k...... apperently poorly made cars are more important than the people who the US relies on to teach the next generation

The Electoral college protects smaller populated states from being ignored by candidates in favor of larger states, otherwise Presidentail candidates would never visit any place outside of the major population centers. That type of system is exactly what the Founders wanted to avoid, it would make us a Democracy, not a Republic.
The Founders were also well aware of the problem of "group think" and one party rule that tends to exist in cities. We don't want only major population centers deciding who's President every election. The President would give them what they want and ignore the rest of us.

I think 18 is plenty young enough to be voting, even at 18 kids are still plenty damn ignorant about how the real world works. I know I was.

The GM bailout was a travesty, they broke the law screwing the bondholders out of their money, and paid the Unions (Obama constituents, donors) instead. Disgusting. Not to mention it violated the very essence of the capitalist system. Freedom to succeed and to fail.

Check out this viral video: HERE. hilarious!

Calling up China, "yo, we straight outta $20's!"

The banks responded to the requirements placed upon them by the Community Reinvestment Act. How do you make money lending money to people you know can't pay you back? You eventually cook up investment packages that are so complex and hard to understand (to cover up the bad paper) that even the Federal Reserve Chairman doesn't understand them, as Alan Greespan admitted after he left the position. The banks outsmarted the very people charged with keeping an eye on them, but it was the Government who forced them into that position in the first place by forcing them by rule of law to make bad loans.
There's blame to be placed all around, on the banks, the Government who forced unprofitable requirements on the banks, and the people singing onto loans they didn't fully understand.

This economy was failing when he took office. Bush caused it to fail. Obama has been trying to keep it from failing.

It's a two sided debate. Most people who cannot afford healthcare want it. People who can afford it say they don't want it. (Kinda funny isn't it)
So it's hard to choose.

I agree with healthcare for everyone, but this is NOT the right time.
We need to recover and stabilize first and figure out a way for healthcare insurance to be affordable for employers. It is too expensive for small business.
Are you serious? Obama is trying to pass a bill that will TRIPLE the National Debt and you want to blame Bush?

the economy had been set up to fail when Bush was elected. He just got stuck with a lot of mistakes that were made years and years ago. the american economy has been a ticking time bomb for some time and presidents have basically been playing hot potato. Not saying Bush was the best president but at least he got stuff done. What does Obama do? hope, change, repeat

I totally agree bro. The thing is this...I'm tired of Obama and his cabinet just blaming the previous administrations(Bush and Clinton included). He always talks about changing the country for the better...well here's your chance big guy, quit your talking and deliver on all those speeches you delivered pre-inauguration.

Shut up baby, I know it!
so much uneducated bush sackriding its ashame to see that education has failed us in this way. Part of the reason i dont even bother to argue politics anymore, i just shake my head and walk away. Especially when people start labeling others through political terms.

Are you serious Talon? You just said it yourself that he would triple the debt. We would already have to be in debt before he could get more debt. Lmao
Like I prevously mentioned, we need healthcare, we just need to figure out a way to get it.

When Clinton left office there was a surplus and we continued to make money until Bush cut taxes which is the Republican way afterall... We went to war (which I could sympathize)... the stimulus package lmao... and poor leadership throughout...

And still they did nothing to control spending. Im sure everyone needed new chairs, fancy offices, new state vehicles, freshly paved roads that were paved again in wealthy areas, giving back MUCH more taxes back to people with children sometimes double than what they themselves provided, legislation left and right for stupid crap that cost us tons of money, yearly bonuses, paid holidays, etc...

The government isn't doing a good job. Our founding fathers would be ashamed of what this country has become. The U.S. is CONTROLLING everything and f***ing everyone in the ass. I love this country, I really do, but something needs to be done.

Legislation f***S everyone. I thought this was a democratic country? I think its just a nice way of the gvmt to call us retards without being mean.
