Spark Plug Cover Nut

Hey... well just wanted to share a story with a valuable meaning...

So the other day I was working on my car. Lost one of my spark plug cover nuts. Figured it would cost like 50 cents a my Honda dealer. BAM! $4.09 with CA tax! One nut! :shock:

Moral of the story... Don't lose those and I'm going to collect a few if I come across them. hahaha

I like the OEM one, so it can look exactly the same. I'm anal about little things. :shock:
I like shit done right.

It's like rounded up top and looks pretty.

I know the nut haha. My hardware store has rounded top ones. They're like a golden brass color. Haha I can mail you some if you lose them again!

My stock ones and the one I got from the dealer are stainless steel polished silver. :what:

I possibly could have found them. I went to a hardware store that didn't have them. The $4 was at least worth my time

I shouldn't have dropped it though in the first place though.

I'm headed to Acura now to get a VTEC solenoid gasket assembly

It's not worth it. It's like $200-300.
I broke mine a while back by not using a proper torque wrench.

Buy it used on ebay. They're like $20-$30.
You can buy so many extras and it's not a common part that goes bad.

I'm trying just the gasket first. If not I'll get a used entire assmbly

The lower gasket is like $20. The upper gasket that lies horizontally is about $13.
If you replace the whole assembly you need to replace the lower gasket that goes to the head/block.

Also, some Honda dealers claim they don't sell gaskets & try to sell you the whole Vtec solenoid assembly. That's BS because they do.

Called this morning and they wanted like 50 for both gaskets. I said whatever because I want the teg up and running. They were in stock. Just went to pick it up. Not in stock. The parts guy was clearly a drug addict. I screamed at the manger there and they said it won't be in until Saturday morning. I ordered it online from park Acura for like 30 shipped. Fuck Frankel Acura in MD. /rant

I got new acron nuts ones on ebay for $13ish. Work perfect.
felpro gaskets are same as oem gaskets,might save you a few $

$50 for both is pricey. My gaskets were the price I posted. My local Honda dealer too. Mine ships next day bright and early in the morning. Not even 24hrs.

$13 upper / Horizontal Gasket
$20 lower / Vertical Gasket / to Head

My local dealer does price match. I'm too lazy though to save a couple bucks
