wheres the oil pump?

does anyone know where the oil pump is and how to replace it? i couldnt find any pictures of its location on line

The oil pump is in the oil pan.
prob a pretty simple process.

to remove it drain oil out of pan. remove pan
out pump should be staring you in the face when pan is off
should be a couple bolts to replace

Make sure you dip your pump in oil before replacement so there no chance of a dry run
replace
put pan back on
torq pan back on
refill oil
Test

the oil pickup is in the pan... the oil pump is behind the crank pulley and you have to remove the timing belt and crank pulley to get it off

dont pay for a new oil pan gasket lol rtv gasket maker works great so long as its applied correctly. and its 7 bucks for a decent size tube, and can be bought at any auto parts store.

You can not change the oil pump by this method.

The oil pump is driven bay the timing belt. Essentially you would do just like a timing belt/water pump service but replace the oil pump rather than the water pump. It requires removing the accessory drive belts, the timing covers, timing belt, etc. You'll have to set the timing belt back properly(set the crank to TDC, line up the timing marks on the crank pulley and the cam gears, etc), so if you don't know how to do that or don't feel comfortable attempting that, you should have a professional do this service.

the reason people like me do it the "stupid cheap way" is because its the smart effectve way lets see whats smarter.

sayi can sell you a cheeseburger for 7 bucks, but someone else wants 30. both cheeseburgers taste the same and will fill you up exactly the same, which would you rather have the one that only costs 7 or the one that costs 30.

(im craving cheeseburgers so thats why i use it lol)

Id go with a new gasket, and some of "the right stuff sealer" from autozone. Make SURE that you replace the oil pump O-Ring that goes between the pump and the block where the pump discharge is. You can get one from honda. Also, Replace your front main seal when you have the pump off. Grease the end of the crank shaft with bearing grease along with the inside lip of the new seal and gently push it on with the pump making sure it doesnt fold back on itself. Use a honda front main seal. Trust me, I didnt and it pissed oil ALL OVER the place.

I can understand where your coming from but i tend to do it by the book so it tends to last longer. not saying your way doesnt work but i like knowing that gasket from honda doesnt fail before the RTV. i work on hondas all day long. last thing i want is somebody coming back to me saying i messed up their car.
