I'm looking for a new set of door speakers but not sure where to start. I have a set of Memphis 2 way 4x6s in there now and there just not cutting it. Figured I would try them out sense there brand new. Bought them for my s10 and never put them in before I sold it. I'm not planning on putting a sub in the car due to little trunk space. I need all the room I can get due to my job. I actually just sold my sub and amp. I'm looking for something That will put out a little bass
Any suggestions.

Alpine type S 6 1/2 components and 6 1/2 rear speakers.. they are great speakers for the price and good mid range with amp hooked up to them, they are crisp not bass though, that comes from my sub(i dont really listen to bass music, its not set up for bass)for bass though you'd be happier with the type r if your looking into Alpine. should of kept your bass cause just speakers wont give you great bass.

Meh.. I have 2-way pioneers all around, very very crisp sounding. Got 2 12' kickers in the back with a kicker 400amp and they KICK MY ASS OMG LOL

I don't want something that will make my doors rattle. LOL Just something that doesn't distort the high notes when the low notes are hitting at the same time. For example, I bought my wife a 2010 avenger and the factory stereo sounds amazing. Highs and lows. Not sure what brand of speakers they are. And how did you get 6 1/2's in your doors? Do a little cutting?

6 1/2 are stock size in 2dr, for the type r though you need to cut 3/4" MDF rings to make those speakers for your car, best advice goto car audio store and see which speakers you like best cause each ear is different, see which one you like best and in your price range but dont expect much with just speakers, you need an amp atleast to power the speakers property. the 50watt out of the cd player wont do it...

that gets into personal opinion... wellllll, my pioneers do sound good without a 4 channel amp going to them

Ic. For some reason I thought the stock size was a 6 in the door. I've got a pretty good Kenwood headunit but I Can't remember the model. But I know its a 200w unit. It's about 2 years old or so.

i have two sets of components <---- thats prob what you wanna get
it will def be louder but still give you some mid bass but not rattle your doors

in my car, i have one set in my front doors and another in the kick panels

you also want to get an amp for them, the reason ur wife's avenger sounds good is because they spend alot of time and $$$ to get the right set up, also they DO have amps on most newer cars today.

DONT GO to a shop and get raped with their prices hit up that site ^ ^ ^ ^ they have good prices and fast shipping, i bought a few things from there. If you want to hear them go to the shop or store to try them out and THEN get online and buy them they are usually cheaper

Whats your budget?

I actually know a guy that works at a stereo shop so I could probably get a pretty good deal. I'm just going to throw a number our for the budget, maybe around 300

I currently am running some POS Sony Coaxials in the front doors, about a 10 year old pair. Upgrading soon to Rockford Fosgate R1652-S in the front (how are they supposed to fit) and Rockford R1653s in the rear. I am personally a Rockford Fosgate fanatic, their speakers are great for the price, and since I won't be amplifying them to any great extent, their higher sensitivity rating means they'll play great off the stock deck. I've already had another set of R1652-S in my previous car, they blew me away for an inexpensive component set.

MB Quartz components up front (tweeters, 6.5" mid bass, crossover) and Boston acoustics 6.5 2-way in back, all fed by a 4 way Eclipse amp. But I also have subs. 2 12" Infinity references in a sealed box fed by a 300x2 rms amp. Yup, it sounds awesome, lol...

Without the sub, it sounds ok, but not awesome.
