Subwoofers:JL 10'' 10W3 or Pioneer 10'' Champion Series Pro

So I'm looking to get a small upgrade in my sound system. It's the first I am making, there are already some decent speakers I am leaving, but I am upgrading in terms of deck, amp, and subwoofer. I took the car in to the shop and spent quite a bit of time talking with somebody there about my possible set ups. What parts I have finalized are that I am getting a Kenwood KIV-700 deck, a JL amp either JX250/1 (1x175W/1x250W) or JX500 (1x340/1x500) depending on which sub I get. I am in a dilemma about which one to get. I've seen a lot of praise for JL's quality, but hate on the price. However, the pioneer is very tempting.

Bottom line is, anyone with any experience with either of these subs, which set up should i get? Based on going for the loudest, lowest bass while retaining quality.:roll:

JL Audio is the sex, that and a 75 dollar probox and I couldn't be happier for the price.

As is with everything else, you pay for what you get. I have a JL 10W3v2 and absolutely LOVE it, great sound, hits like a mofo when you crank it. If you really want low bass I'd say got for a 12" JL, I have one of those also and it;s amazing what it can hit while still retaining that good quality sound. just my :twocents:

not to jack thread.. but, what amp are you running? I'm either going to get the 10 or 12 w3 since a w7 is just gonna take to long to save up for..

that one is a clarion 250, it hit good, but thats not what im rocking anymore, blew a capacitor cause i left it to close to the sub :roll:

rockin a garage sale special now :D hits harder than the clarion did!

I'm not running either pioneer or jl but as far as I know JL ftw....I've heard JL systems and they hit pretty damn good yeah the price is steep but not that bad of a deal for the quality. I'd say if you were going for 12's I could suggest other subs....

I think I'm gonna stick with a 10 for now. It's sort of entry level. I'm just hesitant because its a higher end pioneer model vs this basic JL

10w3 ftw IMO is perfect for a teg, i had 13 jl audio and it was too much for me id like to hear my stuff.. im running 10w3 jl with 500watts and 4ohms.

Real Good!
JL is def good, but their prices are alittle sour. alsong as u dont mind that then def go with it.
i heard some loud set ups from JL
