Questions Regarding Side Skirts

Okay, I Just bought a 94 integra. I bought it for 1700 bucks but there a few rust spots on both sides right in front of the back tires. From all the forums that I saw this is very typical for a car that has 206,000 miles especially when the previous owner lived in Massachusetts where it snows. My question, the rust expand up about 2 and half inches from the bottom of the car and Im pretty sure that rust is through and through on metal and the only way to fix it is to cut it out so Could I just cut it out and replace it with an aftermarket side skirt? Or what would you guys suggest i do? thx

Pics would help. and if its through to the metal you should cut out the area and weld in new metal and fix it. if you just want to cut it out and put a side skirt over it it will just collect water and rust more (trust me i bought mine with side skirts and there is mad rust underneath) id say fix it correctly then if you still want side skirts make sure it is fixed or it will come back as soon as you got rid of it. good luck!
