GSR ECU/Wiring

So I may be picking up a GSR shell to replace my GS. Basically so I can avoid the hassle of dealing with the effed up front end.

Now since it's a GSR I assume the ECU will be different. I'm planning to drop my rebuilt B18b1 and transmission into it, so will I need to move the wiring from my car into the new shell or will the GSR's wiring work? If I do need to transfer the wiring, will it be just the engine's harness or everything, including the wiring under the dash? Would be ECU hook up to that wiring?

I just want to get this question delt with. If I get the shell i'll be shaving the bay and taking care of a wire tuck, so if I have to swap the wiring over, it won't be all that big of a deal.

Yes, the GSR wiring will work. The only difference between GSR and LS/GS wiring is vtec. Also, your ecu will work for any obd1 92-95 integra chassis (check years, that was just a quick Google search). You would need a conversion harness for 90-91 integra or 96 later integra.

You should be able to just snap your ECU in the clips(if it's OBD1) or just get a jumper harness if it's OBD0.
If you're OBD0 you'll have to re-pin the distributor harness into the OBD1 clips, cut the wires a few inches from the clips and solder the correct wires together, or get the jumper from Rywire(or make your own).

Also, if there is a P61 ECU in that shell let me know, I'll buy it from you.

The car is a '93 so the ecu and wiring should be OBD1, however wouldn't the wiring be different for a v-tec motor?
It is my understanding that GSR's all came with vtec motors, and the motor i'm going to put in it is non-vtec.

And Paden I will let you know later today.

Yes, all DB2s came from Acura with B17A1 Vtec engines.
Just don't connect the Vtec wires. Other than that, the harness is basically the same (this is why converting to Vtec is only a few wires).
I suggest you just roll the Vtec wires up and zip tie them under the dash somewhere. That way, if you ever decide to go Vtec, your all set in the wiring department. Especially since you're thinking of tucking the bay.

I highly doubt I will be converting to vTec anytime soon. Got my rebuilt b1 and a nice shiny turbo sitting over here for it.

Is it the engine harness that would have the different wiring, or is it the whole thing?
My thought is I could just chop up my original B1 harness and use it on the car instead of this harness.

Either way it doesn't matter much. I will let you know when I get home about the ECU.
The only thing that I don't like is that it has these stupid shaved doors. I might have to wire up some back up to that lol.

Well the DB2 seems somewhat good. It has door poppers but the handles are still there. Should I shave them when i'm doing the bay, or should I hook up the handles again? Already have a method of opening them if the battery is dead.

Comes with an alarm too. The body is straight, but hella ugly. Teal, silver.. blah.. interior is mostly stripped which is not really a bad thing. I can strip it completely and paint the whole shell. Shave the bay, wire tuck, and major sound insultation. I was thinking of checking out this spray on sound insulation called Lizard skin. Maybe double that up with dynamat. At least i'll have a spare shell to do something after the whole ordeal.

The shell is slammed on some eBay coil overs. It might be too low actually. I don't know if it can handle driving around where I live being that low lol. We'll have to see.

@Paden, the ECU is in it, I didn't think to check what it was.. but it's a stock DB2 ECU, so if thats what you need PM me or Facebook message me. If you need more info, i'll get it to you this weekend.
