Is it hard to replace my window motor for my '93 Integra?

My passenger side window won't roll down. I took the door panel off and pulled out the window switch and checked it for proper continuity according to the repair manual. Window switch works. I pulled the relay for the window motor on the top of the driver's side kick-panel fuse box: relay works too when checked according to repair manual. All fuses are in good condition, both under hood and in the kick panel. So I'm left with: Either A: bad wiring to the switch from the fuse box or B: bad window motor. I'm betting it's a bad motor.

When I had the door panel off I didn't even see how to remove the window motor or where in the hell it was. The repair manual I have doesn't say where it is, how to remove it or how to troubleshoot the motor and assembly. Does anyone out there have experience removing the window motor? What do you have to do? Thanks forum!

the window motor is the whatever bolts that are on the door. usually, theres 3 bolts right in the middle.

heres an example



all you gotta do is remove and replace. not hard at all.

Here's a dumb question, but is your window lock on? I had a homie start ripping apart his shit only to realize he's a dumbass and had the window lock on. Jusss sayyin loll.

:rolf::rolf: i was trippin out one day. a friend of mine did that to my car at a meet. i was depressed that i had to replace it. till i got in the next day and noticed it was switched.

I have the same issue with my car. It won't go down the the switch on or off. I want it to go down but idk where to start looking for the problem

Thank you for the picture! I appreciate that. I did see some bolts kinda like this on the door, and I guessed that the motor was behind there, but isn't it connected to some kind of armiture that rolls the window up and down? If I undo the bolts and just start yanking blindly behind that panel until the motor is free, how will I get the replacement motor back installed properly if I can't see where it goes and fits into stuff? Is there a way to actually take the door apart further so that I can see the whole motor assembly and window assembly together? Like does the whole inner metal panel come apart from the door to work on the innards of the window mechanism?

theres not much to replacing the motor. theres plenty of openings and space to replace it. just take note on which way you take it out. it will only bolt up one way.

i did this to my civic the other day. at night. in the driveway. took about 20 minutes.

But the motor's output shaft must plug into something to crank something to make the window go up and down right? If I can't see behind there how do I know how to line up the new motor correctly?

just unbolt what you see. thats what i did. i never changed out a civic power window regulator before.

i looked at the new part, took out whatever bolts i saw, removed the old part, put it next to the new part, and put the new one back in.
