Trunk motor release

Hey guys quick question. I am having issues with my trunk release. I am talking about the electric one with the switch right under the trunk. My key one works fine, but when the other one is pushed i can hear the motor move but nothing happens. I haven't opened it up yet to see if i could see what the problem is, but i was wondering if this was maybe a common problem or if you guys had some ideas. Thanks in advance.

^? 98 and up (not sure on previous years) are power driven onto the same circuit s as the door locks. The motor you hearing is the Actuator they usually go bad on our cars. You may have to replace it. Mine stop working back in 2002 and never replace it for security reason.

Is it the actuator or is it not stock? All I know is I wish it worked, because when my friend needs to throw something in my trunk, I have to turn the car off and hand them the key and its a little annoying. If it is just the actuator, I may go ahead and try to fix it. Is it a specific trunk actuator?

mine has been broken for the past year and a half on my 99, not really worried about it. I agree with the security aspect. If I forget to lock my door (doesnt happen often) I dont want someone to be able to get into my trunk.

Thanks guys. I looked but I am having trouble finding the actuator, so I will either see what my local shop or dealer can hook me up with but for now I will just stick with the key. If I end up fixing it I will try to post a guide.

What year is your teg? If you tell me the year I can determine if it's power or cable driven.
