I only use Shell or Chevron and the bimmer takes "premium" only. I used 100 octane once at $7.20 a gallon... It was horrifying to see it count in dollars as fast as it did.
Holyshit $7.20 a gallon!! I never knew they had 100 octane lol. The highest they have around where I live is 93 and I am paying $4.11 a gallon for that for the Teg. That pisses me off enough!! Hey but atleast these arent V8's so happy I got rid of my Durango 5.2L when I did.

Why would you use 100 octane? 91 is prefectly fine unless you have some really high compression.
No real reason other then I went to a pump at the gas station I never went to and before sliding my card in I realized the nozzle was red instead of black, So I looked down and saw 100 octane... Thought about it, and said fuck it... and bought it .The car ran cleaner so it seemed, Acceleration was smoother but I don't think it was worth it and won't do that again. I was just curious.

The normal premium here is 91... There's a VP gas station here that has 100 octane to but they have it on their signs so I never really tried it until I realized the gas station I normally go to has it at 1 pump out of like 12 pumps.

100+ octane in a car that isn't programmed to burn it properly and take advantage of the increased octane is essentially burning money. There is no performance gain to it, and a waste in any car.

Skipping buying fuel for a day is pushing deck chairs off the Titanic—it's still going to sink. Plus... SNOPES.

If you want to make a statement to the oil companies, buy an electric car or convert a TDI to run on deep fry oil from McDonald's.

I'd let you know if you converted that to gallons.

Its about $3.60 to $3.80/gallon where I am.

So how did this work out?
It doesn't.

People don't STOP buying gas or use less of it, they just delay it until tomorrow. You still spend money with the oil companies, you just do it tomorrow. It doesn't work. Don't waste your time. I'll pay you $45 for a tank of gas yesterday or tomorrow, you still buy a full tank of gas. The oil companies don't care when you buy gas, as long as you keep buying it.

It's a flawed, silly internet chain letter—probably developed as some sort of e-mail harvesting tool from everyone passing it back and forth in quoted forwards.

And yet people always want to try it every time the gas prices go up. It doesnt change demand, it just moves it to another day.

From my recollection of yesterday's gas prices in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada:
$1.29/litre for 87
I believe it was $1.49 or so for 91.

So, courtesy of the Googlemeister..

$1.29 / litre = 4.8831812 US$ / US gallon ---- For 87
$1.49 / litre = 5.64026356 US$ / US gallon ---- for 91

Quit your whining :D
