Looking at Beatbox enclosure. I can tell he did his math.
Every subwoofer enclosure will be design different. Remember some subwoofer are air tight and some or free air meaning the box need to be ported.

i Have 2 JL audio 12' subwoofers. they hit real nice for my ls hatch considering theres no division from the seats to trunk.
As a helpful hint though.. the bigger the box concealing the sub, the more bass and the harder it hits. Way Better!
