You need the load resistors. The LEDs don't provide the same resistance.

Wanna see some pics. I was thinking about doing this

You can splice the wiring for the bulbs if you want for the resistors; they just need to be on the wiring and secured so it doesn't come off. Soldering it on would also be an option, if you wanted. All the resistors need to be is in the loop. Good luck!

Actually screw it..I'll just slap on some Sylvanias.....According to the box it says it's 30% brighter and whiter than normal bulbs so in my book that'l suffice...This LED crap is way too much effort and money for not that big of a difference the damn resistors on amazon are 18 bucks for the pair.. I wonder where else i could put these LEDs on.....Hmmm...

Also...I thought this was interesting...This picture is off a 3rd gen off H-T

Which is completely true...Cause i tested this theory by installing an LED bulb on my bumper signals and comparing them... The LED side gave my amber signals a nasty yellowish dim look, While the incandescent bulb remained very bright and gave it the amber glow it was ment to give off..

So looks like i solved my own problem :)

A step light is also another easy12v led lights that consumes very little power. If you forget to turn it off, you don't have to worry since it can be on for days and still be easy on your battery. You can use a courtesy light or an amber side marker light. These mount with a couple of screws to the underside of the stairwell.

Yeah, When it comes to LEDs I'm only using them on the interior of the car.
The stock lights and housings were designed for a specific lumen output to meet road necessities.
I'd rather have it that way so If something happens, I know I'm not at fault.

just fyi to post this in the thread for anyone looking to do this in the future... a load resistor is NOT what is needed in this situation... a load resistor only solves issues where due to using LED bulbs there is a bulb out indicator and/or turn signals issues where they flash too quickly.

the problem may be that you've bought 1156 single contact bulbs and what you really needed was 1157 dual contact. if they are in fact 1157 bulbs then the problem may lie in a faulty bulb

Just call me chris.
if you had mistaken the 1157 for the 1156 A) the pins dont line up. the numbers indicate base type. the pins are different on the outer edge of the base. i just odered a set of 60LED bulbs and one worked perfectly and one on worked with the brake light on. i contacted the seller and he said it was either a bad solder or shipping damage. and is sending me another free of charge. may just be your bulb bro. you only need the load resisters for the turn signals. and you can get an OEM replacement flasher made for LEDs. when i get mine ill let you know how it works.
