Im thinking about doing ls/vtec with my motor i just built. ive got gsr rods and crank with b16 pistons and a b20 head rightnow. i was just wondering if any has done this before.
Like Dylan said, that isn't LSVtec. That's the head that someone got rid of so they could go B20Vtec.Im thinking about doing ls/vtec with my motor i just built. ive got gsr rods and crank with b16 pistons and a b20 head rightnow. i was just wondering if any has done this before.
This is correct.thats not an ls vtec. LS Vtec is a ls block with ls rods and crank and a vtec head. not a ls with gsr crank and rods and a b20 head.
With what you have listed....140-145whp if you're using stock b16 cams. Give or take a few since you destroked the block by using a GSR crank and rods in an LS block.i already have the motor built and in the car. i know its ls/vtec yet. i was going to get a b16 head to do vtec with. so what kind of power do you think it will make if i dont ask/
The b20a is from the older Preludes and is the bastard child of B series. Stay away from it. It doesn't have the "bolt on" and "change over" properties with other b series motors that a b20b or b20z will have.the head im going to get has gsr cams and im also getting a p28 that is chipped and has twostep. is a b20a a jdm motor? cuz i can get a complete motor that needs rebuilt for 50 bucks. and it sounds like that is the way to go.
b16Ls/v-tec is LS block with SI head or GSR head...
