Need a bad motor mount workaround for my '93 Integra

Hello. I have a 1993 Integra that is really loud and vibey, and after myself and my mechanic inspected the hell out of my exhaust, the exhaust has no holes. However the car is louder inside than outside, it resonates inside loudly, increasing with engine RPM, and is accompanied by a lot of vibration from the engine. The mechanic inspected the motor mounts and found them to be bad, or "collapsed" as he put it. I never realized old motor mounts can collapse and let that buzzy engine send all it's vibes into the chassis like that. How hard is it to replace them? Is there a cheap fix I can do to eliminate this problem? Can I like, lift up the motor mounts and place a thick piece of rubber between the engine and the mount somewhere to absorb the vibrations?

why would you wanna just rig something up? new mounts arent too expensive and would be a longterm fix. i doubt a piece of rubber would stay in there for very long.

Sounds like you need to just replace the mounts.
Because my mechanic will charge me just over $500 to replace all the motor mounts for me. And he's not jerking me around, he's very honest. That's a quarter of the cost of the whole car and I'm not doing it.

Are all the mounts broken?
There isn't a safe way that I know of to mend broken mounts other than to do the window weld DIY. The thing is, that process creates solid mounts and solid mounts excessive in cabin vibrations for a DD.

Excessive cabin vibration and noise is the problem already. For one reason or another, the car acts like the engine is already welded straight to the chassis, because I get lots of droning just like there's an exhaust leak, except there is no exhaust leak. Crappy huh? The only thing my mechanic can think of is the rubber in the motor mounts is worn out and allowing the engine bolt to just rest there against the inside of the mount. And since this engine doesn't have a counterbalancer or something (not a smooth engine), it makes the whole cabin buzz and shake a lot! The poor dashboard is being shaken too, lol, which makes secondary noises from various plastic bits vibrating against one another.

If that's the case, and you don't want to replace the mounts, I highly suggest the DIY solid mounts via the window weld method. Aside from new mounts it's the only safe option I can think of for you.
