Fuel Pump Bad?

I have a 1993 Integra. Problem I have is the motor turns over and fires for a few seconds and dies. I have spark but no fuel. Rented a fuel Pressure gauge when hooked up to fuel filter(outflow side) My reading is ZERO. I can hear the fuel pump kick on for a few seconds but not eveytime I turn the key. I put a voltmeter at the wires going to the pump and got a reading of 10.8 volts. Also the when the pump does turn on it has a growing sound.
Is this for sure Fuel Pump or do I need to check ignition, relay.............

Thanks in advance

I have checked all fuses. Not sure how to check relay. But my thoughts are if it was electrical wouldn't it be all or none? I am getting voltage to pump(10.8 volts).

You wouldn't be able to start your car over and over again for seconds if your fuel pump was bad. Any CEL?

No CEL. Doesn't really start just fires a little. But a with a zero on the fuel pressure gauge I just assumed I may be getting a trickle of fuel in.

I think my plan is to pull pump and direct wire it and see what happens unless someone has a better solution

Replace the fuel filter first, it's cheaper. Make sure the in and out flow lines are correct. You can hope it's a clogged filter. If you still don't have flow, try the pump.

take out main fuel relay and re-solder the solder joint. it is common problem of this relay.

To check the relay you need a DVOM (voltage tester) and read a wire diagram one end should have low resitance (Coil magnet) the other end your going to have to energize the coil with a 12V source then you can test the other side of the relay and you shouldnt have any resistance. After you energize the coil it will bring down the (flapper) and make contact with another part of metal and compleat the line. I hope this isnt to complicated, I tried to make this easier to understand.

I would say replace the fuel filter and pump and move on

nothing from nowhere
i take it your battery is low? if you have power to the pump and no pressure it has to be the pumpo
